Earlier this week, we reported that Pteranodon Flyers at Universal Islands of Adventure was closed unexpectedly. The ride has remained closed since then, and now Pteranodon Flyers has been added to the list of attraction closures on the Universal Orlando website.
Pteranodon Flyers Closed at Islands of Adventure
Pteranodon Flyers was not scheduled for maintenance and appears to be experiencing technical issues. Sources have indicated that this could be a lengthy closure, due to the nature of the problem. There’s no estimate on how long the repairs could take, so no reopening timeframe has been given.
Universal Orlando has a lot of projects underway and has been cutting costs where they can, so this unexpected issue at Pteranodon Flyers comes at a very inconvenient time. Pteranodon Flyers is an older attraction and has a very low capacity. This is not a ride that is in huge demand, so it will be interesting to see if Universal prioritizes repairs on this attraction or not.
This glider attraction is located in Camp Jurassic and offers smaller guests the opportunity to fly above the park. It requires guests to be under a certain height to ride, so if you’ve never experienced it for yourself, be sure to watch our full POV below.
Now that Universal Orlando Resort has officially added Pteranodon Flyers to the list of temporary attraction closures, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next. Make sure you stay following us to keep up with the latest details on this attraction closure.
