The long-in-development Space Mountain movie is still in the works, with new writers being added to the project.
Space Mountain Movie Gets New Writers
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec have been hired by Disney to pen the script for a live-action Space Mountain movie. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the project, first announced in 2020, has been described as a “family adventure” intended for theatrical release.
Applebaum and Nemec join the project as new screenwriters, taking the place of Joby Harold, who was reveled as the writer back in 2020. The duo of Applebaum and Nemec are responsible for previous projects including the Amazon series “Citadel,” and the Netflix live-action adaptation of “Cowboy Bebop.” The film would join a long line of films inspired by Disney Parks attractions, most recently with Haunted Mansion in 2023 and Jungle Cruise in 2021.
