To honor their original version of Space Mountain permanently closing this summer, Tokyo Disneyland is hosting Celebrating Space Mountain: The Final Ignition!
Celebrating Space Mountain: The Final Ignition! Sticker
Tomorrowland Cast Members are giving guests a special Celebrating Space Mountain sticker. The sticker is a blue hexagon with “celebrating” on the orange tail of a Space Mountain ride vehicle.
“Space Mountain” is set against an illustration of the ride’s iconic building and “The Final Ignition!” is below it in white. “Before the future begins” is written across the top left, and the background is spotted with white stars.
Space Mountain Decorations
A new sign above the ride’s entrance features the same design as the sticker in one corner. “Celebrating Space Mountain: The Final Ignition!” is across the top center.
Spaceships are pictured blasting off into teal-green space.
The artwork matches the new paneling in the Space Mountain exit tunnel teasing the next version of the attraction.
After that exit tunnel is a new illuminated sign displaying concept art for the new Space Mountain and updated Tomorrowland plaza. It reads, “A new future awaits in 2027!” The ride is set to open that year.
Space Mountain Photo Op
A special photo op is available outside. A sign hanging above the area reads, “Space Photo Place.” Guests can climb in a blue ride vehicle on a teal and black space backdrop. The Celebrating Space Mountain logo from the sticker is on the back wall.
A nearby information sign reads:
Space Photo Place
In July 2024, Space Mountain will temporarily close its curtains after approximately 40 years of history. At the Space Photo Place, capture a scene from your intergalactic journey on Space Mountain’s spacecraft, ensuring that this unforgettable chapter is forever preserved.
Space Mountain Popcorn Box
A Space Mountain-inspired popcorn box is available from this Tomorrowland popcorn cart. The box comes with regular salted popcorn but features a unique design. They are ¥400.
Astronaut Mickey is on one side, set against a space background. The celebration logo is above him. The top of the box features tech-like designs.
Two sides have an image of Space Mountain lit with rainbow stripes. “Before the future begins” is above the attraction. Spaceships crisscross the sky above it.
The last side features a spaceship and hexagon graphics over a planet.
Space Mountain Drink
The Coca-Cola and lemon-vanilla Sparkling Jelly Drink is available in a Space Mountain cup at Tomorrowland Terrace for ¥700.
The cup is translucent. The celebration’s logo is on one side. A teal blue stripe is near the bottom.
Astronaut Mickey is on the other side, giving a thumbs up.
There are hexagons and stars all over the cup.
The current Space Mountain will close permanently on July 31.
The new Space Mountain, rumored to be named “Space Mountain Earthrise,” will open in 2027. Construction began behind Tomorrowland in late 2022 and the Oriental Land Company held a groundbreaking ceremony in May 2023. The project will cost approximately ¥56 billion ($437 million).
