There’s Been a FRENCH FRY EMERGENCY in Disney World

Disney giveth, and Disney taketh away.

We know they say if you love something, you should let it go and if it comes back — it’s yours (or at least that’s what Christina Aguilera taught me.) But, in this particular instance, we’re miffed because we didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye. Sure, Disney is known for having limited-time snacks, but what happens when something goes missing without a trace? Unfortunately, now we know.

We come to you today filled with great sadness because a travesty has been committed in Disney World. Just on the heels of Saucegate 2024, it’s become clear that we’ve had to abruptly say goodbye to a DFB favorite snack. Yes, it’s true — the Loaded Burnt Ends Fries have been removed from the menu at Regal Eagle Smokehouse in EPCOT.

We noticed they had gone missing from the online menu, so we headed to the restaurant to investigate. A Cast Member confirmed that they were gone, but that it was possible they could come back in the future. Apparently, these delicious fries came about when Disney needed a way to use up the extra burnt ends from the brisket (which they also use in the baked beans!)

But, now that the team at Regal Eagle has honed in on the amount of brisket they need to prepare each day, they’ve gotten to the point where they’re no longer really producing excess burnt ends — meaning there aren’t enough for the fries.

As much as we love and respect this quest for no food waste and more sustainability, we are devastated that our beloved Loaded Burnt Ends Fries got nixed in the process. Where are we supposed to get Seasoned French Fries with Burnt Ends, Macaroni & Cheese, and Beer-battered Onion Rings in Disney World now?!
