The Disney animated film, “Wish,” has become the third most-streamed Walt Disney Animation Studios premiere on Disney+.
‘Wish’ Earns 13.2 Million Streaming Views
According to Variety, in its first five days of streaming on Disney+, “Wish” has hit 13.2 million views. This ranks it in the top three most-streamed Walt Disney Animation Studios film premieres on the streaming service. “Wish” debuted on Disney+ on April 3, 2024 — five months after hitting theaters. It comes in behind “Encanto” and “Frozen 2.”
The November theatrical release of “Wish” was a notable financial disappointment for The Walt Disney Company, with the film earning only $31.7 million during its five-day opening window. It appears its presence on Disney+ may help to give it a second life.
“Wish” serves as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, highlighting the iconic wishing star that can be seen in films throughout the company’s history. The film follows Asha (voiced by Ariana DeBose) who makes a wish upon a star that alters the fate of her entire kingdom.
