Kawaii Gallery Banners Return to Japan Pavilion at EPCOT

The banners for the Bijutsu-kan Gallery featuring a “kawaii” exhibit have returned to the Japan Pavilion of EPCOT.

The banners have been missing for nearly two weeks, since at least April 19. Their six bamboo poles remained in flowerbeds to the side of the gallery building’s entrance.

The six banners are back and appear unchanged. However, it’s possible they have been completely replaced but the new banners have the same designs.

The set on the right includes a blue banner reading, “Irasshai.” This is a welcoming greeting in Japanese.

A banner advertising the exhibit reads “Kawaii” in colorful bubble letters. A cutesy bowl of rice with wide eyes is pictured. “Japan’s Cute Culture” is at the bottom of the banner.

Banners with the word "konnichiwa" hung in a traditional Japan Pavilion setting, featuring manicured trees and a stone wall.

“Konnichiwa,” a common Japanese greeting, is on a banner on the left side. A white banner features the greeting in blue kanji.
