Speakers Added to CommuniCore Stage, More Paths Outlined at Flex Space in EPCOT

We’re a month away from the opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza in EPCOT. Construction of the venue is near completion, with the exterior looking done.

CommuniCore Hall & Plaza

Street view of a modern facility entrance with signage, closed gates, and landscaped flowers, under a clear blue sky.

We spotted two speakers above the CommuniCore Plaza stage. A limited-time “Encanto” sing-along show — “¡Celebración Encanto!” — will be performed on this stage when CommuniCore opens.

Modern building with geometric white and gray facade partially obscured by a black fence and foliage under a clear blue sky.

The speakers hang from the ceiling of the stage’s overhang. Wiring is visible running into them.

A tree with broad green leaves grows in a concrete planter surrounded by benches in an urban park setting with clear skies.

From directly behind the stage, the speakers show how it is centrally aligned with planters and seating in the CommuniCore Garden.

A sunny park scene featuring people walking and sitting near a pond, with modern sculptures and lush trees in the background.

We could see the speakers from the Walt Disney World Monorail, too.

Outdoor area with people walking, green trees, and a tall black barrier; modern building with angular structures in the background.

They appear actually to be two pairs of speakers. A green construction vehicle is also parked near the stage.

People walking next to a fence near a modern building with distinctive arch features and outdoor lighting elements.

The slanted white poles around the Plaza house lights for the stage.

People walking towards the entrance of a building with a geometric patterned facade, under a clear blue sky, with signage reading "mickey & friends.

Paneling appears complete on CommuniCore Hall. We haven’t seen construction around the Mickey & Friends meet and greet in a while. The exterior of the meet and greet features a mural of EPCOT imagery.

EPCOT Flex Space

Construction site with equipment and temporary fencing under a clear sky, surrounded by some greenery and buildings.

Construction is also ongoing at this flex space next to the Imagination! Pavilion. Part of the flex space opened with the Florida Fresh booth at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Since then, a curved concrete path has been added onto right next to the Imaginaton! Pavilion.

Construction site with machinery and materials, building a paved area surrounded by fences and trees under a clear sky.

A patio space in the middle of the construction site has been paved. Short walls encircle it. There are also two short columns on the far side of the site with walls leading away from them.

Construction workers laying bricks for a new pavement in an outdoor area with landscaping and equipment around.

We saw a few crew members working on more walls that frame pathways. The concrete is a light pink color.

Disneyland’s Mother’s Day Then and Now – What Was & What Is!

Believe it or not, I used to spend every Mother’s Day at Disneyland. To some, that might seem strange, but for me, there’s no place I’d rather celebrate than at The Happiest Place on Earth. Although there are still many ways to commemorate the special occasion at the resort, one event remains unparalleled: Disneyland Hotel’s […]

NEW Ride Testing UPDATE Spotted at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom

Look at that mountain. (OK, technically, it is a salt dome). Isn’t it glorious? And GREEN! 💚 Soon, we’ll be flying down that big old hill on the NEW Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride in Magic Kingdom, and we can’t WAIT.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom this year! In fact, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in Disney World THIS SUMMER and “later in 2024” in Disneyland. The last time we checked the calendar, summer was looking pretty close, which means that Disney Imagineers must be getting close to finishing all that construction. During a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we noticed some EXCITING progress we simply had to share!

The new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure.” Tiana and her friends are preparing for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance, but like any good story, there’s a hitch in the plans. That’s where we come in!

“Tonight Only: A Celebration of Family and Friends of New Orleans at the Proud Home of Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen! Everone Is Welcome!”

Speaking of Tiana’s friends, Disney confirmed that Prince Naveen, Louis, and Mama Odie will be featured on the ride, along with Eudora (Tiana’s mom), Charlotte, “Big Daddy,” the King and Queen of Maldonia, and Naveen’s brother Prince Ralphie. Phew! That’s a LOT of characters!

OK, now let’s get to the news. During our visit to Magic Kingdom, we spotted some ride testing. But wanna know the best part? We saw a FLASH of light, meaning that Disney is likely testing its cameras for ride photos, too! Watch the video below to see that flash in action. Based on the timing, it seems like the camera will remain in the same location as it was before the Princess and the Frog makeover.

We’ve watched Imagineers test the ride several times now, but we’re still DYING to see what it’s like inside the ride.

Imagineers testing Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

We’ll be sure to keep our eyes out for additional updates. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
