If you were following Disney news a few weeks and months ago, then you probably watched the company’s proxy battle unfold.

For many months, we watched activist investor Nelson Peltz and his Trian Partners attempt to secure a spot on The Walt Disney Company board. It all culminated in a very important vote during Disney’s annual shareholders meeting, and Peltz ultimately lost the election. But now, we have one major update on the situation.

CNBC reports that Nelson Peltz has sold his entire stake in Disney, according to a person familiar with the matter. All his stock was sold at roughly $120 per share, meaning that he made about $1 billion on the deal.

This move comes just weeks after the shareholder meeting in April where Peltz and former Disney finance chief Jay Rasulo did not earn spots on the board. The 2024 shareholder meeting was not the first time that Peltz had ignited a proxy campaign — he’d taken issue with Disney leadership in the past.

In October of 2023, CNBC reported that Peltz upped his stake in Disney to about 30 million shares, right before kicking off the latest proxy battle. Peltz’s campaign at the time took particular interest in Disney’s streaming woes, as well as the failed succession plan for CEO Bob Iger. Currently, both of those tasks are things that Disney is taking an interest in.

Disney already announced a new sports streaming service to house ESPN content, where the company is partnering with Fox and Warner Bros. And as far as a successor for Bog Iger goes, the candidates have reportedly been narrowed down, and Iger has reassured shareholders that he and the Board of Directors have learned from the past, and hopefully, with this succession, there won’t be so many external factors affecting a successor’s ability to lead the company.

In honor of the fifth anniversary of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on May 31, 2024, Disney is releasing a new Ki-Adi-Mundi Legacy Lightsaber collectible box set.

Ki-Adi-Mundi Legacy Lightsaber Set

The Ki-Adi-Mundi “Hilt of a Jedi” set will be available tomorrow at DisneyStore.com and from Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.

The hilt comes packaged in a bespoke Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities box.

The box set also includes:

• A special Disney Parks exclusive edition of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge #1 featuring the Cerean Jedi Master himself, as drawn by Star Wars artists Chris Sprouse (pencils), Karl Story (inks), and Rachelle Rosenberg (colors).
• An individually numbered insert card featuring a quote inspired by Dok-Ondar, and the official Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge 5th anniversary logo.

A Legacy Lightsaber blade, sold separately, will illuminate blue when attached to the hilt.

May 31, 2024 marks the 5th year anniversary of the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland resort. To celebrate the special occasion, we are excited to release ‘The Hilt of a Jedi’ limited edition box set. The set is designed to be deep in story as the wooden box features the symbol of Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities and is inspired by the story told within the comic book.

First introduced to fans in the 1998 Star Wars Legends comic “Prelude to the Rebellion, Part One,” and more famously known for his appearances in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” Ki-Adi-Mundi’s hilt was acquired by Dok-Ondar when he purchased it from Jabba the Hutt. This latest addition to the Legacy Lightsaber hilt line is limited to just 6,000 units worldwide and is available for purchase starting tomorrow.

In the five years since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened, 32 Legacy Lightsaber hilts inspired by fan-favorite Star Wars characters from around the galaxy have been released.

“The team has always worked hard to bring unexpected, unique, in-story merchandise to our guests,” said Hampton. “I have been a fan of the ‘elegant weapons’ that are Lightsabers my entire life and being a part of the opening team of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was a dream come true.”

To celebrate the anniversary of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Hampton’s team has created a checklist of all the Legacy Lightsaber hilts, limited edition sets, and box sets that have been released so far. This poster, available to download, is perfect for any newer collectors or fans who may be new to the Legacy Lightsaber collectibles.

“We work hard so that the collectible Lightsabers we produce are as authentic as possible to the source material, whether that be film, animation, games or publishing,” says Hampton. “I’m so proud to still be a part of the team that is creating new, unique merchandise like the Legacy Lightsaber hilts.”

The new ‘Hilt of a Jedi’ Ki-Adi-Mundi Legacy Lightsaber Hilt collectible box set is available tomorrow at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. The set will also be available tomorrow on DisneyStore.com starting at 8 a.m. PT.

One of the perks of being a Premier Passholder at Universal Orlando is getting one complimentary ticket to Halloween Horror Nights on select nights, and the dates when that admission can be redeemed have now been released.

Premier Passholder Dates for Halloween Horror Nights

Premier Annual Passholders simply need to show up at the entrance of Universal Studios Florida on one of the following nights to use their complimentary admission to the event. This year, the nights included for Premier Passholders are:

• September 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 25, 26
• October 2, 3, 9, 10, 30
• November 1, 2, 3

Halloween Horror Nights officially starts on August 30, with Unmasking the Horror Tours starting on August 11 and a Premium Scream Night on August 29. Multi-night tickets are not on sale as of the time of publishing.

Six out of 10 houses have been announced so far, and all are originals — Slaughter Sinema 2, Goblin’s Feast, Major Sweets Candy Factory, The Museum: Deadly Exhibits, Monstrous: The Monsters of Latin America, and Triplets of Terror.
