Tokyo Disney Resort has shared a full look at The Snuggly Duckling, the “Tangled”-themed restaurant in Rapunzel’s Forest at Fantasy Springs, which opens this summer.

The Snuggly Duckling Cast Members wear clothing inspired by the restaurant’s thugs.

They have leather belts and brown aprons with tall boots.

A giant tree is growing over and into The Snuggly Duckling’s building.

It features cutesy duck imagery, just like in “Tangled.”

The weathervane on top is sculpted to look like Shorty, the small old thug who dresses like Cupid.

The restaurant features sloped rooftops with moss.

The Snuggly Duckling menu features burgers, fries, the Caramel Duckling Muffin, and the Lemon & Strawberry Sweets Ever After dessert in a frying pan.

In the entryway, there are giant cartoon-ish weapons in barrels and crates, under a banner asking guests to “Place yer weapons here.”

The restaurant has wooden columns and detailing.

Tree branches and roots poke through the walls, ceiling, and floor.

There are sketches and wanted posters on the walls.

Big Nose’s romantic poetry is pinned to the wall.

There’s a stage with Hook Hand’s piano.

A note on the piano reads, “Hooks and hands off my piano.”

A poster advertises Hook Hand’s “I’ve Got a Dream” world tour.

There are booths built into the walls, as well as tables and chairs in the center of the room.

A puppet theater with Pascal and Maximus marionettes is in the rafters.

There are also hand puppets inspired by Flynn and Rapunzel in a display case.

A Pinocchio marionette is hidden in one corner of the rafters.

A bear chair is next to the fireplace.

Bruiser and Killer advertise their Criminal Craft Faire with this poster.

Vladamir’s collection of ceramic unicorns is also displayed next to a painting of some of the unicorns.

A flyer congratulates Rapunzel and Eugene on their wedding.

There are paintings of Maximus and Pascal.

Rapunzel has also painted Pascal and lanterns directly on the ceiling.

Rapunzel has also painted a picture of her, Maximus, and Pascal.

An outdoor seating area features the same furniture as the interior, as well as a counter overlooking the wooded area.

Fantasy Springs will open on June 6, 2024.

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Disneyland Resort is now offering special menu items at select locations, including at Studio Catering Co. in Disney California Adventure

Crispy orange chicken and lo mein noodles with vegetable and eg fried rice, rolled in a flour tortilla and served with hot sauce and fried wonton chips

Rating out of 7: 3

This burrito was a roller coaster ride for our group. If you’ve ever wanted orange chicken from Panda Express in a burrito, mixed with rice and noodles, then this is for you. This giant pile of carbs is just fine, and very heavy on the citrus flavor, though we didn’t get many pieces of orange chicken or noodles. The fried rice was nothing special. The included dipping sauce is the typical chili sauce that you would normally get with egg rolls; it’s definitely on the sweeter side and we’re not sure if the burrito needed it.

The wonton chips are a little greasy but very good, and we thought they tasted great dipped in the sauce. This is an interesting take, but overall we think this is far too carb-heavy for a warm day at the park.

This refresher was surprisingly good. It’s a little on the sweeter side, and we wish that there had been some alcohol to cut that sweetness, but we think this might be a hit with kids in your group.

The taste to us came across as a sort of pear apple sauce. Not bad, just not what we expected.

Tokyo Disney Resort shared a first look at the quick-service Oaken’s OK Foods kiosk in the Frozen Kingdom area of Fantasy Springs, which opens at Tokyo DisneySea this summer.

The kiosk is inspired by Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post. Oaken has ostensibly opened the kiosk as a branch of his retail shop. It has large wooden columns descending from a mossy slanted roof.

Behind the counter are various carvings and kitchen supplies one might see at Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post, too.

Oaken’s OK Foods will serve Oaken’s Yoo-Hoo Bread, a variation on the cardamom roll with Scandinavian-style spiced meat and lingonberry jam.

Frozen Kingdom will also be home to the Royal Banquet of Arendelle restaurant inside Arendelle Castle.

Fantasy Springs opens on June 6, 2024.

Following the supermajority vote to unionize, Disneyland Resort parade and character performers have scheduled a union election for next week, May 15-18, 2024.

Disneyland Performers Holding Union Election

The election was announced by The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Voting will take place on-site at Disneyland on Wednesday, May 15, Thursday, May 16, and Saturday, May 18. Each day of the vote, eligible Cast Members will cast their votes at three designated voting locations. Cast Members who are attached to either Disneyland Resort’s Characters or Parades departments will be assigned to a specific voting location based on their first scheduled shift for the week.

Final election results are expected during the evening of May 18. Media is not allowed to go to the voting locations, but union activists will be available for interviews during the election period. Details on how the election results will be announced will be shared at a later date.

The group of unionized performers, calling themselves “Magic United,” encompasses 1,700 Disneyland Cast Members who help bring Disney’s characters to life. When a petition for a union election was filed with the NLRB on April 17, 2024, Actors’ Equity Association President Kate Shindle said,

Our goal is to make ‘the happiest place on Earth’ a little happier. Equity has a very good relationship with Disney. We negotiate with them at Walt Disney World in Orlando, and with Disney Theatricals on Broadway and national tours. We look forward to meeting with their representatives across the bargainin table, and together, making the Disneyland Resort a fairer and safer place to work.

Most of the workforce at Disneyland Resort is already unionized, except for those working in the Characters and Parades departments. However, their counterparts at Walt Disney World Resort have been unionized for decades.
