Tinker Bell Meet & Greet Signs Removed from Town Square Theater in Magic Kingdom

Signs for a Tinker Bell meet and greet have been removed from Town Square Theater, years after the character stopped meeting guests there.

Tinker Bell Meet and Greet Signs Removed

The outdoor sign advertising for a Tinker Bell meet and greet has been replaced with a second sign for Mickey Mouse.

Guests used to have the option to choose to meet Tinker Bell or Master Magician Mickey Mouse inside Town Square Theater, but Tink has not appeared since the closure of Magic Kingdom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When regular meet and greets returned in April of 2022, only Mickey appeared in Town Square Theater. The removal of Tinker Bell signage indicates she will not be meeting here for the foreseeable future.

Here’s a look at the Town Square Theater exterior before Tinker Bell stopped meeting there. Her sign, which included a wait time, was on the left side of the entrance.

A Cast Member indicated to us that the change is to make way for Jack and Sally from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” however those characters only meet during the Halloween and Christmas seasons, leaving the space empty for the rest of the year.

All traces of Tinker Bell have also been removed from inside the theater, with Mickey’s poster being duplicated to take Tinker Bell’s vacant spot.

The sign reads “Town Square Theater proudly presents backstage magic with Mickey Mouse.” There is an image of Mickey and the wait time listed below him.

Were you hoping for Tinker Bell to return to Town Square Theater? Let us know in the comments below.

NEWS: Banned Disney+ Episode of ‘Bluey’ Released Online

Even if you don’t have a kiddo in your life, chances are you’ve heard of Bluey anyway. This hit Australian children’s television show has taken the world by storm — and for good reason.

©Disney

The show has been praised for its heart, imaginative sequences, and comedy that’s funny to both children and adults. Disney+ acquired the international distribution rights for the show in 2019, but not all episodes were available on the streaming service. Now, an infamous “banned” episode has been released online — for free!

If you’ve been wanting to watch the controversial “banned” episode of Bluey, you’re in luck! The show’s creators have released the episode on the official Bluey YouTube channel.

©Disney

In the episode, Bluey’s little sister Bingo finds a baby carrier that their dad, Bandit, used to carry her around. When Bingo gets in, the kids pretend Bandit is pregnant. He then acts out pregnancy symptoms, like cravings and aches, and later gives “birth” to Bingo in an inflatable pool.

Though Disney has not officially confirmed the episode’s plotline is what has kept it from the streaming service, fans have speculated that’s the cause.

©Bluey.tv

In a 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the show’s creator Joe Brumm said that while episodes like “Dad Baby” don’t “get shown in America,” he felt that this episode was too special to not make. “What are you going to do, not make ‘Dad Baby’? I love it,” he continued.

REVIEW: Can a Michelin-Starred Chef Make GOOD Disney Fast Food? We Found Out!

The Downtown Disney District is constantly changing. We are anticipating the opening of six (!!!) new restaurants in the coming months, and some are already beginning to open!

Downtown Disney

Three new restaurants from Chef Carlos Gaytán recently opened, and we are eating our way through them. We recently ate at Céntrico, and now we are checking out another new restaurant!

We are heading to try out Tiendita today! This newly opened quick-service restaurant is located on the west side of Downtown Disney. Tiendita is part of a trio of restaurants created by Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán that recently opened in Downtown Disney. The trio includes Paseo, Céntrico, and Tiendita. Paseo is the upstairs dining room, Céntrico is a bar and open-air restaurant, and Tiendita is the quick-service option.

Tiendita

Let’s head to Tiendita and see what it is all about!

Atmosphere

Tiendita is a quick-service restaurant where you will order at a kiosk. The restaurant does not have its own seating, so you will need to find your own spot to enjoy your food.

Ordering Area

We found the kiosk to be simple to use and straightforward. You can browse the menu and then make your selections on one of the screens.

Ordering Kiosk

So, let’s see what food Tiendita has to offer!

Menu

The menu at Tiendita has lots of classics, including tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, and more. There is a good variety, but almost all the items are going to be Mexican-inspired dishes.

Full Menu

You can choose from a selection of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and nachos.

Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas, and Nachos

You can also get ceviches, salads, tostadas, sides, and desserts.

Ceviches, Salads, Tostadas, Sides, and Desserts

There is also a kid’s menu and a decent selection of beverages.

Kid’s Menu and Drinks

Now, let’s get to the food and drink!

Food & Drinks

We got a TON of food. Hope you’re ready because we have a lot to say.

The Full Spread

We are starting off with the Jamaica Agua Fresca, which has hibiscus flower-flavored water and cardamom. It costs $7.

Jamaica Agua Fresca

We were a bit surprised at how small it was for a large size, but the taste is what really matters! We thought it was light and refreshing, with a subtle hibiscus taste. This drink would be perfect for a hot day and tastes very natural. It tasted like the real thing, not like a bunch of syrups were used to make it. We felt it was a bit expensive for what you got, but we enjoyed it nonetheless.

Such a pretty color!

Next up, we are trying the Street Corn which is made with corn, mayonnaise, Cotija cheese, chili powder, lime juice, and epazote. This side dish is vegetarian and costs $7.

Street Corn

This was probably our favorite item that we got at Tiendita. It is not spicy at all, but the ingredients all come together really well. The cream on top is tasty and the mayo goes well with the lime, cotija, and chili powder. Each ingredient had the perfect amount inside this dish. Our biggest recommendation is to make sure you mix it all together before you dive in. That way you get a bit of each ingredient for a perfect bite.

So much yumminess!

We are moving on to the Cheese Nachos. This dish contains corn chips, cheese sauce, tomato, green onion, pickled jalapeño, and avocado. This dish is also vegetarian and costs $12.

Cheese Nachos

Overall, we didn’t think these nachos knocked it out of the park. In fact, we would kind of compare them to your average ballpark nachos. The dominant flavor is the jalapeño and they do have a bit of a kick to them. You can always ask for them without jalapeños if you want a mild option. The ingredients don’t really blend together, so you can really taste each individual element. It definitely needed more cheese on it though, and the cheese that was there was your typical nacho cheese sauce. There is nothing special to these nachos, but if you are craving a quick, classic nacho snack these would likely do the trick.

Time to dig in!

Now, let’s try out the Acapulco Ceviche. This ceviche is made with shrimp, tomato juice, ketchup, orange juice, lime juice, tabasco, and Pico de Gallo. This dish is dairy-free and costs $14.

Acapulco Ceviche

We thought this dish was very yummy! There was lots of tomato flavor and the Pico de Gallo provides a great freshness and aromatic flavor. The onion and parsley work really well in this dish. We didn’t taste much of the tabasco here, and we didn’t find it to be spicy. There is no fishy flavor in this either, but overall, the shrimp was just okay. The shrimp didn’t stand out to us in this dish, but that could be a good thing if you are not a huge fan of shellfish. We really thought the pico was the star of this dish, and a great option if you love tomato-forward meals.

It is shrimp time!

We are finishing off with the Chicken Tacos. The tacos have barbacoa chicken, romaine lettuce, sour cream, queso fresco, tomato, guacamole, onion, and salsa verde. They are served three per order on corn tortillas. You can get these tacos for $13.

Chicken Tacos

They do not skimp on the guacamole on these tacos! These tacos were a bit messy, but the tortilla was thick and tasty. There is lots of well-seasoned chicken. The chicken was tender and full of flavor. The tomato and cheese were the perfect accompaniment to the guacamole and chicken. We do wish there was a bit more onion, though. The dish is not spicy at all unless you add the salsa.

Yum!

We got the salsa verde, but you can also get salsa roja or none. The salsa verde had a bit of a kick at the end. We thought these were filling for the price, we just wish they were a bit easier to eat. We ended up having to eat them with a fork as they were falling apart.

Overall

We thought this was a good quick-service option in Downtown Disney if you are looking for a quick, no-frills location. The restaurant offers lots of classic Mexican dishes for a fairly reasonable price. The restaurant is pretty small, and that would be one negative. There is no seating as part of Tiendita, so you will need to hunt for a place to eat. This could be challenging if you are in Downtown Disney on a busy day. Our favorite dishes included the Street Corn and Shrimp Acapulco, but we found the food to be flavorful, satisfying and pretty decent portions for the price. There was nothing that really amazed us, but the food was all very enjoyable. It is an easy place to grab a yummy, quick bite that will fill you up. We also want to give a quick warning about the utensils. The utensils are wooden, and we got a splinter using them, so do be careful!

Nosh or Not?

You may want to make a stop by Tiendita if…

  • You are looking for a quick spot to grab some filling food.
  • You are craving some Mexican food, and you want it quickly.
  • You want a more budget-friendly option that is still satisfying.

You may want to skip Tiendita if…

  • You are looking for somewhere with good seating options.
  • You want a unique experience or unique food options.
  • You want a restaurant with a large variety of options.

Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney food news and reviews!

We Just Got EVACUATED from a Popular EPCOT Ride

When it comes to your Disney World vacation, it’s always a good idea to expect the unexpected.

EPCOT

Your flight could be delayed, you could be late for a dinner reservation, or even worse — you could get STUCK on a ride. As much as we hate to admit it, things can go wrong in Disney World. And, that’s exactly what happened to us on a recent trip to EPCOT!

Disney World rides can break down for any number of reasons, but usually when it requires a full evacuation that means something, somewhere has likely malfunctioned. We were forced to evacuate Test Track at EPCOT when our car decided to, you know, stop doing the zooming thing. But, it wasn’t just a normal evacuation because we were in a very unfortunate place when it happened.

Test Track

Take a look at just where we got stuck and had to be evacuated from when we were riding Test Track one recent day!

If you are on a ride that does stop like this, that’s exactly what you should do: wait patiently for the ride to either start moving again or for a Cast Member to give you other instructions.

Do NOT get out of the ride vehicle unless a Cast Member tells you to do so.

Test Track ride vehicle

We know just sitting there can be nerve-wracking, but Cast Members will not forget about you. They are working as quickly as they can to ensure sure you make a safe exit off the ride (one way or another). You may hear instructions over an intercom, or you may need to wait until a Cast Member approaches your ride vehicle, but you will be told exactly what you need to do.

Test Track

And, don’t forget that Test Track is getting a retheme! Disney hasn’t released too many details about what the ride experience will be like just yet, but, they did mention that it will take inspiration from World of Motion, the ride that was originally there when the park opened in 1982! We can’t wait to experience this reimagined ride.

Hopefully, this doesn’t happen to you on your Disney World trip — unless you want to get a brand new perspective on a ride! Stay tuned to DFB as we bring you the latest updates and more from Disney World!

A DFB Reader Just Identified a Potential PROBLEM with Magic Kingdom’s Bizarre New Attraction

Ok, we usually like the decisions Disney World makes about bringing new exciting attractions, rides, and experiences to its theme parks but this is one we’re having our doubts about now.

Smellephants on Parade

Magic Kingdom has just welcomed a brand-new attraction that could take you on a wild journey of the senses in one of its lands, BUT… we’ve recently had one of our DFB readers pose a very valid concern.

Magic Kingdom’s newest addition to one of its lands was met with quite a divisive introduction! When the new Smellephants on Parade was initially announced as an upcoming attraction to the Storybook Circus land of the park, Disney fans may have been a bit confused by the decision initially. After its initial announcement and plans to clear out the areas around where they would eventually call home started rolling, we all seemed to start to come around to the idea.

Storybook Circus

What sets these fun “smellephants” apart from becoming another piece of whimsical decor around the land could also be its downfall. One of our readers seems to think this new attraction will be met with challenges right out of the gate.

Hot Dog

We’ve spotted these adorable creatures popping up all over Storybook Circus and had a little interoffice fun guessing where the next would pop up and what its theme might be. Now that their installation is complete, we finally know their scents!

Cotton Candy Elephant

That’s right… scent. Disney has teamed up with Scentsy to bring this new attraction to life in an inventive and unique way. Each of these loveable elephants is themed to snacks in both their appearance and their scent.

How cute!

Taking this one step further, the original plan for the design is to play your own scavenger hunt — literally sniffing out your next smellephant before finding clues leading you on to the next. That being said, one of our observant readers has pointed out that this is a popular place to sit and relax (especially for those hot and tired parents) to rest against the walls and surrounding scenery while their little ones play and explore. Are you already noting a potential problem here?

Would you ask someone to step aside while you smell the elephant?

Yes… things could get awkward really quickly when you walk up to a resting person and (politely) ask them to move so you can sniff the smell behind them. (Yeah, you didn’t want to see the facial expression I just made typing that out).

Smellephants on Parade

Since the attraction just opened, we’ll see if this becomes an issue!

We’re always interested in your take on what Disney World is doing next! Be sure to leave your thoughts for us on this one and more in the comments below and stay tuned with us to find out how things go for the Smellephants.
