Former Cinnabon and Quiet Flight Stores Gutted at Universal CityWalk Orlando

The former Cinnabon and Quiet Flight Surf Shop stores in Universal CityWalk Orlando have been completely gutted just a month after they permanently closed.

Cinnabon & Quiet Flight Demolition

A two-story commercial building with a partly demolished ground floor and colorful construction barriers displays large food advertisements on the upper level. People walk on the adjacent sidewalk.

The front walls of both storefronts are gone. Only a sliver of white and aqua paneling remains on the former Cinnabon façade. When we checked earlier this month, exterior demolition had barely begun.

A group of people walk past a construction site with colorful barriers. Above, the patio of an eatery named "Moe's" with outdoor seating is visible. Large food advertisements are displayed on the building.

Everything has been torn out of the interiors, leaving only support poles. The Billabong wave photo op is also gone.

An outdoor shopping and entertainment area under construction, featuring a sign for Universal Cinemark, several dining and club signs, and construction boards displaying various graphics.

A dumpster full of debris is inside the Quiet Flight location.

Construction site at an urban location with a dumpster, a green telehandler, and wooden barricades. Debris and building materials are visible, along with some surrounding advertising banners.

Cinnabon and Quiet Flight were located right next to the Universal CineMark. Their closures and demolition are to make way for an unannounced new experience.

Temporary Cinnabon carts are available outside the movie theater and at Fresh Eats in the security hub. A permanent Cinnabon kiosk will be constructed elsewhere in Universal CityWalk soon.

BREAKING: DATES ANNOUNCED for Another Disney World Food and Wine Event!

We’re sure you’re aware of all the great festivals you can attend at EPCOT, and we bet you’re very familiar with the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, which is set to happen this year from August 29th through November 23rd.

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

But did you know that there’s ANOTHER Food and Wine festival at Disney World? This one doesn’t even require you to buy a park ticket! It’s the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic, and dates for this festival have officially been announced.

This year’s Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic will run from November 15th through November 16th. Although this event doesn’t require a park ticket, it is a ticketed event, but for the price of a ticket, you get UNLIMITED food and beverages from restaurants at the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve. Yep, all you can eat and drink! In 2023, the event ran from 5:30-9PM on both days

Food and Wine Classic

In addition to booths for each of the Swan & Dolphin’s restaurants, there are also themed areas with even more food and drinks. Last year’s themed areas included The Beer Garden, For the Love of Florida, Carnival Corner, and Chinatown.

For the Love of Florida

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin has not yet released ticket prices for this year’s event, but last year, tickets were $185 per person for unlimited food and beverage tastings on the Causeway. You’ll also find live entertainment performing in the Dolphin clamshell fountain each evening. The event also includes seminars you can attend for an additional cost on wine tasting, pasta making, craft cocktails, and more!

Il Mulino Booth

Last year, the festival also offered two VIP experiences: VIP Champagne and Dessert Party at the Swan Reserve and a Master Sommelier-led Grand Tasting. Note that these are additional paid options you can add. Guests planning to stay at the Swan and Dolphin for the event may call 888-828-8850 to learn about room discounts, too. Note that you’ll still have to buy your tickets separately.

Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic

This event is great if you want to spend an evening outside the parks indulging in some delicious food and wine. Menus for the Food & Wine Classic will eventually be released, too, so you can plan what you want to eat ahead of time. We’ll be sure to share those as soon as they’re available. There is a LOT of food to try (and again, you can try it all with your ticket to the event), so we recommend not filling up at the parks the day you plan on attending.

8 Deeply Unsettling Rides in Disney World

Have you ever stopped and thought about how many rides there are at Disney World?

Hollywood Studios

When it comes to those rides, you’ve got options for everyone whether you’re looking for spinning rides, simulators, or of course, roller coasters! There’s one thing that you may not have ever thought about though — some of the rides can be downright UNSETTLING! Let’s go over some of them so that you can decided whether or not you’ll hop on them on your next Disney World visit!

As we said, we’re going to go over some of the most unsettling rides at Disney World!

Tower of Terror

This one is arguably the most “spine-chilling” ride in all of Disney World. The Tower of Terror plunges riders into a haunted hotel with a dark history.

Tower of Terror

The eerie ambiance, coupled with sudden drops that leave your stomach at the top of the tower, makes this a must-ride for thrill-seekers and a HUGE no-go for the faint of heart.

Haunted Mansion

While the Haunted Mansion is more whimsical than terrifying, its spooky theme and ghostly inhabitants can be unsettling for your younger kiddos.

The Haunted Mansion

The eerie narration and chilling special effects don’t help in that regard, but they do set a mood that’s just creepy enough to make you think twice about what is hiding in the shadows.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Don’t be fooled by the swashbuckling theme! The dark ride features sudden drops and a particularly scary section at the beginning that plunges you into complete darkness.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Also, the dim lighting and sudden cannon blasts can startle young ones (and us young-at-heart folks too!).

Mission: SPACE

Mission: SPACE offers two levels of intensity, but even the milder Green Mission can still feel claustrophobic.

Mission: SPACE

If you opt for the Orange Mission, you’ll experience a simulated space launch with intense G-forces that can leave you weak in the knees and a little green around the gills. Overall, it can be an exhilarating experience and an unsettling one.

Rise of the Resistance

This immersive experience starts off at an eleven by dropping you right in the middle of a galactic conflict from the get-go.

Rise of the Resistance

While the thrill of being captured by the First Order and escaping their clutches is exciting, the intense action and realistic effects can be pretty overwhelming, especially for younger or more sensitive guests.

Space Mountain

Space Mountain is a classic dark ride that will have you zooming through the darkness at high speeds with unexpected twists and turns, which, understandably, is both exhilarating and unsettling.

Space Mountain

The disorienting lack of light combined with the speed can leave you screaming and with wobbly legs as you step back into the daylight.

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster

If you thought Space Mountain was intense, this high-speed launch coaster with its upside-down loops and tight turns might have you screaming for mercy (or maybe singing along to Aerosmith?).

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

The inversions, corkscrews, and darkened tracks make for a disorienting (albeit thrilling ride) that’s not for the faint-hearted.

Expedition Everest

This roller coaster through the Himalayas throws in a harrowing backward segment, a surprise drop, and a rather imposing (albeit non-moving) yeti.

Expedition Everest at night

It’s definitely an exciting ride, but its unpredictable nature and the imposing yeti might be a bit much for some guests.

©D23

That was just a bit on the Disney World rides that we find to be the most unsettling, and we’d love to hear more from you!

I Go To Disney World Every Day — Here’s What I’m Taking With Me This Summer

We’re getting closer to summer, and you know what that means — hot days in Disney World!

Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom

The Florida heat can be intense, and the humidity that comes with it makes it even more relentless. When you visit the Disney World parks in the summer, you gotta be prepared for the weather. That means dressing for the hot days and knowing that it’s not only yourself that can overheat but also your phone and other electronics. Luckily, we’ve found a solution for keeping your phone cool, even when you’re constantly using it in the HOT parks.

DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission.

Disney has made it so that your phone is a very important part of your theme park vacation. From dining reservations to Genie+ and so much more, the Disney World app is practically a requirement for a smooth trip. Unfortunately, this means you’ll likely have your phone out most of the day, and on days when it’s extremely hot out, that heat can be detrimental to phones.

©Disney

It can be frustrating when you’re trying to use your phone but it suddenly overheats. That’s why we were so excited we we found these small, attachable cooling fans for phones! We weren’t sure how they would do, so we tested one out for ourselves.

Pick Up a New Phone Cooling Fan!

Black Shark Phone Cooler

Get It Here!

This is the Black Shark phone cooler, and it attaches right to the back of your phone. It’s about the size of any MagSafe charger that you might attach to your phone for extra battery life (also useful in the parks!). We also noticed that it’s very lightweight, which is great when you have to carry it around all day.

It fits right on the back!

Get It on Amazon

The fan cools down the phone by blowing air all across it, which helps prevent the battery and screen from overheating, similar to the fan on your computer. This is much more convenient than having to stop your day to go into a building with air conditioning and put an ice-cold bottle of water on your phone (trust us, we’ve been there). While we hope you DO take breaks to cool yourself down and stay hydrated, we don’t want you to have to stop your fun just because of your phone.

Small and Lightweight

Grab It Here!

In the dead of summer, we’ll be SUPER thankful to have this little fan on the back of our cell phones. It’ll make a world of a difference when we’re trying to take pictures, book lightning lanes, and keep tabs on wait times. It’s important to keep your phone cool and working, so consider a convenient little fan like this one for your next trip!

It’s a lifesaver!

Get the Phone Fan Here!

We’re here to help make your next trip to Disney World magical, so stay tuned to DFB for more Disney tips and tricks!

If Disney’s Animal Kingdom Expansion Doesn’t Include this Epic Ride, We’re Not Going.

Major changes are coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This upcoming expansion will bring even larger crowds to Animal Kingdom

After months of rumors, and talk of blue sky possibilities, Disney has confirmed elements of the massive upcoming expansion to Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. With everything confirmed so far, there is one attraction we’re dreaming of…

Rumors of Disney expanding Animal Kingdom by repurposing the area that currently makes up Dinoland U.S.A. have been going strong for years, with fans considering numerous different concepts. Finally, at the Destination D23 event in September of 2023, Josh D’Amaro – the president of Disney Experiences – confirmed that Disney was considering additions inspired by Encanto and Indiana Joneswhich would likely take over Dinosaur, consider it uses the same ride system and track layout of Indiana Jones Adventure -for the area.

We’ll miss Dinosaur, but we’re not opposed to this

During the same event, Imagineering head Bruce Vaughn said of the development of the land, “Imagineering has been talking about stories from this part of the world; Encanto with Indiana Jones just rose to the top. They give us so much to play with. We have a long way to go now and a lot more to discover. But our team here in Florida is all over it.”

We’d be THRILLED!

Disney Imagineering finally confirmed some details about the expansion in early April, when the organization posted a video on Instagram with the caption, “Travel with us to the Yucatán Peninsula, one of the many locales where we’ll draw inspiration for Tropical Americas, the exciting update coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! “

Within the video, Neal Emery, Principal Landscape Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering, explains “We recently took a trip down to Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula to study culture, art, and the archeology of the Mayans. Imagineers build 3D models to help visualize the stories that we’re trying to tell, to bring the fantastical and magical to life.”

WaltDisneyImagineering Instagram

While neither Encanto or Indiana Jones are confirmed, the fact that both have been name-dropped so often, combined with the fact that both fit the Tropical Americas theme – the former is set in Columbia while the latter had many adventures in South America – it seems like it’s only a matter of time until they’re confirmed.

However, this is still one ride we’re dreaming of for the area:

A thill ride based on The Emperor’s New Groove – which is set in the Peruvian area of the Incan Empire – that culminates in a massive “Pull the lever, Kronk!” scene. Come on, admit you would LOVE that just as much as we would!

Disney

Kronk ride aside, the massive expansion coming to Animal Kingdom should prove to change the Walt Disney World Resort FOREVER. Stay tuned to DFB for more updates on its conclusion.
