Construction continues on the DVC Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World.
Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Construction Update
During our recent visit, we could see that, from the lagoon sign, the large square opening on the building has been given a coat of bright white primer. Disney recently revealed that the tower will be called Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The new 10-story addition is set to open in December 2024. Disney Vacation Club members can begin to make reservations on June 4, with Annual Passholders able to book the following day, and all guests the day after that.
What appears to be white debris chutes can be seen coming down from the roof on this side of the building.
On the far right side of the building, crew members were painting the underside of the overhangs so that they match the roof on the rest of the building.
Over at the Island Tower’s future restaurant location, concrete has been poured to enforce the structure of the outdoor bar area.
Crew members were actively working on the roof when we passed by.
Concrete has also been added to the pillars holding up the overhang. Beneath it, wooden structures can be seen on the floor.
Moving to the site of the future pool area, a blue lining of paint has been added around the inground pool.
The lining can be seen in what will likely be a hot tub, as well.
Finally, over on the east side of the tower, seen while riding the Monorail, scaffolding has come down from the front of the building that was there on our previous visit, where we also noted the addition of the porte-cochère.
