The newest construction journal entry by Disney Parks Blog says, “Specially designed for future Cotino community residents and built by award-winning homebuilders, these home designs celebrate outdoor living by bringing the rejuvenating spirit of the desert into everyday life. Some homes will feature flexible floor plans with great rooms and large kitchens that will open to covered outdoor spaces providing breathtaking blue sky and mountain views. Distinctive home features like cozy terraces and enchanting entry courtyards will encourage indoor-outdoor living on certain floorplans.”
Davidson Communities will build homes in the Longtable Park area, designated for adults 55+, and throughout the rest of the community.
Walt Disney Imagineering provided creative insight on the home designs, which feature mid-century modern and contemporary architecture styles.
Construction on Woodbridge Pacific Group and Davidson Communities model homes is expected to begin this summer.

Yes, we say it EVERY TIME we talk about this ride, but Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World is “Almost There.” You’ll just have to forgive all our The Princess and the Frog references.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Now that we have an opening date for the ride, as well as dates for early previews, we just can’t contain our excitement, and we always have to “Dig a Little Deeper” (we did it again) to see if we can find any new updates over at the ride’s construction site in Magic Kingdom. Well, we’ve got some BIG Tiana’s Bayou Adventure updates to share with you!
One of the first big details we noticed just recently was Lari’s house. Lari is the armadillo you’ll meet during the ride. We’ve already learned he’s a mischievous fellow, which makes him sound like a lot of fun. Here’s the door to his home, as well as his mailbox.
Lari’s house
Another sign — quite literally — that this ride is getting closer to opening is an actual sign warning you that there’s a “Fifty Foot Plunge Ahead!” The sign also has some simple boarding instructions along with another warning: “You may get wet.” You know what that means, right? Bring those ponchos! This is also, apparently, an exit if you change your mind about riding.
You’re gonna get wet!
We also ADORE this beautiful water lily embedded into the pavement here. It’s so pretty!
Pretty detail in the pavement
The queue also includes signs for a Farmer’s Market and Break Room. We assume these are for the folks who work for Tiana’s Foods. A sign for wheelchair users is here, too.
Farmer’s Market and Break Room
We also spotted a sign for a Children’s Garden. Tiana thought of EVERYTHING. The whole idea behind Tiana’s Foods is that it’s a cooperative effort with the whole community.
Children’s Garden
Some lanterns are set up on top of some crates in the queue — we wonder if these will be lit at night or if they’re just static props.

We’re so excited to see all these updates taking place at the ride. We can’t wait to get a chance to actually ride it, though. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opens on June 28th.
