We Let Disney A.I. Tell Us What to Do in Magic Kingdom. Here’s What We Found.

Who’s ready to go on an adventure?

Magic Kingdom

Every day in Disney World is quite an adventure, and we are there EVERY day, so we know our way around the parks. That’s also how we find the best advice to give you — from what we’re seeing and experiencing firsthand! But today, we decided to do something a little different in the name of science. We asked Disney A.I. how we should spend our day in Magic Kingdom to see if it would benefit your trip, and what we found was not what we expected!

We talk a lot about Disney Genie+, the paid skip-the-line service that can be used in Disney World. With that service, you can book times to enter the “Lightning Lane” at many rides and attractions around Disney World — and hopefully that results in a shorter wait. However, there’s also just Disney Genie, which is a FREE service to help you plan your day in the parks. And yes, it’s an example of Disney using artifical intelligence!

©Disney

You’ll find Disney Genie in the Disney World app. The first step to using this free service is to put your interests in! Do you want to meet as many characters as possible? Or maybe you want to ride everything you can! Disney Genie will take this into account as it plans your day. For our experiment, we put in that we were interested in a variety of attractions, some character, and quick service dining, but did say no to table service dining. Disney Genie also let us know about the TRON Lightcycle / Run virtual queue and was more than ready to help us book our spot!

©Disney

And before we knew it, we had our perfect plan for the day, according to Disney Genie! Each attraction and experience was listed with the time it was recommended we head to the attraction, and how long it was expected to take. We could also press a button to read more about why Disney Genie was suggesting it for us at that time.

©Disney

We were quite surprised to see it recommended we experience Peter Pan’s Flight first at a 45-minute wait, since that’s not typically what WE would recommend at 10AM. Especially since many other rides throughout the park were listed at only 15 and 20-minute waits. (Note: Later in the day, it jumped up to 65 minutes, so this was actually a pretty good recommendation!)

©Disney

We were interested to find that the virtual assistant recommended we dine at Be Our Guest Restaurant, even though we had indicated we were only interested in quick-service dining.

Be Our Guest Restaurant

As we made our way over to the restaurant, Disney Genie seemed to remember that we did not want to dine at table service restaurants and redirected us to dine at Columbia Harbor House a little later (no complaints here!). This is where things got really interesting. Since we had a little bit of time until it was recommended we eat at Columbia Harbor House, Disney Genie suggested we hop in line to meet Tiana, who was at a 50-minute wait, even though Cinderella right next door was only a 25-minute wait.

©Disney

However, it seems like Disney Genie knew something we didn’t because the wait for Tiana was only 19 minutes!

Princess Tiana

From there we headed to eat, and after we placed our mobile order, it automatically updated our itinerary, and we could check the status of our order whenever we wanted!

©Disney

After we ate our lunch, we started to head over to Under the Sea Journey of The Little Mermaid as Disney Genie suggested, but on our way over there our itinerary changed, and we were advised to meet Ariel instead! This was a common occurrence throughout the day – Disney Genie would suggest one thing, and then change the itinerary as we were already on our way to the attraction.

©Disney

Our next suggestion was to head over to “it’s a small world”, even though the posted wait time was 30 minutes and there were plenty of other rides in the park that were much less.

“it’s a small world”

At this point, Disney Genie wanted to ensure that we knew we were eligible to buy an Individual Lightning Lane for TRON Lightcycle / Run, or that we could join the virtual queue. Even though it was 1:16PM and the second virtual queue drops at 1PM for TRON, we were still able to snag a spot!

©Disney

The remainder of our day and the recommendations Disney Genie was making for us continued in this very similar way – we were being led towards certain attractions, only to have the recommendation changed as we were on our way over there, but it did continue to update throughout the day to give us what it thought was the best recommendation. In a way, this was good to see, because things change in Disney World so frequently, even minute by minute, so to see that this service can keep up with those changes gives it a point in our book!

©Disney

Overall, we think this service can be beneficial to people who are going into Disney World completely blind (which is never something we recommend). It did a decent job at taking our interests into account and making sure we were having the best day possible, however, nothing will beat having real people give you their experiences, which is exactly what we do here at DFB.

Take a Full Tour of the New DreamWorks Land at Universal Studios Florida

DreamWorks Land is the newest addition to Universal Studios Florida, taking over what was formerly Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone. The new land offers Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda experiences. Take a full tour of DreamWorks Land with us!

DreamWorks Land

Theme park scene with overcast sky, sparse crowd, and DreamWorks Land signage on the left. Various colorful structures and decorations visible, surrounded by lush greenery.

DreamWorks Land is located next to E.T. Adventure and Animal Actors on Location. E.T. Adventure got a new sign to help set it apart from the DreamWorks area.

Visitors gather at the entrance of the E.T. Adventure ride in DreamWorks Land, with animated characters on a nearby sign and an overcast sky overhead.

The DreamWorks Land entrance sign features characters from the “Shrek,” “Kung Fu Panda,” and “Trolls” franchises, gathered around the DreamWorks logo.

Sign reading 'Popstar Stroller Parking' with a stroller icon, located in a colorful, landscaped area with trees and mural in the background at DreamWorks Land.

Inside the land, stroller parking is marked with “Trolls” and “Shrek”-themed signs.

A wooden sign reading "Little Ogre Stroller Parking" with an image of an ogre pushing a stroller, located in the beautifully landscaped garden area of DreamWorks Land, surrounded by trees and plants.
Two large, stone-like outdoor bins are side by side at DreamWorks Land; the left is for waste, and the right, marked with the recycling symbol and a blue lid, is for recyclables. They are situated in a landscaped area.

The land has trash cans decorated with “Kung Fu Panda” and “Shrek” carvings.

Two outdoor waste bins made of stone, one for trash and one for recycling, set on a concrete surface with greenery and a building in the background, evoke the meticulous design often found in DreamWorks Land.

Shrek’s Swamp Meet

A whimsical, tree-stump-shaped house with a grassy roof and surrounding vegetation, featuring a wooden sign reading "Shrek's Swamp Meet." Cartoon characters mingle with visitors nearby, making it a charming attraction in DreamWorks Land.

Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona have a brand new meet-and-greet location. Shrek’s swamp is the first thing guests will encounter as they enter the new land.

A wooden sign reads "Swamp Meet" with depictions of Shrek and two other characters, set in a lush green outdoor area with a path and foliage, reminiscent of DreamWorks Land.

Signage advertises “Shrek’s Swamp Meet” and features artwork of Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona.

A whimsical, tree-like structure with a green, moss-covered roof stands under a cloudy sky. Several people, including a woman and child, are exploring the enchanting garden area of DreamWorks Land.

The characters meet at Shrek’s cottage, at the base of a very large tree stump. Shrek’s swamp is the icon of this area and is really the most impressive thing in the land.

A small wooden shuttered window in a rustic, textured wall is surrounded by large, twisted tree trunks and lush green ferns, evoking the enchanting atmosphere of DreamWorks Land.

It’s the most detailed area, too. Shrek deserves the best, especially after losing Shrek 4D and his original meet and greet.

A whimsical, tree-like structure in DreamWorks Land features a wooden door, grassy roof, and surrounding greenery, resembling a fantastical dwelling.

Guests don’t get to go into the cottage, unfortunately. Shrek and Fiona come outside, while Donkey leans out through a window.

It wouldn’t be a Shrek play area without an outhouse, right?

Inside the play area, Pinocchio is hanging out in Pinocchio’s Fact Shack. Push the button and Pinocchio will tell you a fact, but keep an eye on his nose. It grows when he lies.

A brown, enclosed playground slide descends from a raised platform surrounded by greenery and trees. The sign at the top reads "Forest of Fun!" and the sky appears cloudy in the background, making it feel like a scene straight out of DreamWorks Land.

The play area is much smaller and less themed than Fievel’s Playland. The area has some bridges, slides, and water blasters, but it seems very basic.

Wooden viewing platform with three mounted binoculars facing DreamWorks Land. The platform is surrounded by a mesh net railing. Trees and a few people are visible in the background.
A lush, green park area reminiscent of DreamWorks Land features a rustic building, benches, and a sculpture. Several people walk along the paved path, surrounded by trees and dense foliage.

Outdoor "Ogre Dryer" booth surrounded by green foliage, situated within DreamWorks Land. This hexagonal, green and yellow structure prominently displays the text "OGRE DRYER" above the entrance.

If you get soaked in the swamp, there are now “ogre dryers” in the area. These are the same dryers by the water rides that you can pay to use.

Outdoor, Shrek-themed drying station with a green and yellow color scheme, nestled in the lush greenery of DreamWorks Land. The text on the booth reads, "I'll huff and puff and I'll blow your clothes dry!

King Harold’s Swamp Symphony is an interactive experience where guests can hop on lily pads on the ground to make the frogs “sing.” If you get creative, you can make some interesting melodies.

A child stands near a rock formation with colorful frog statues and greenery in the background, reminiscent of DreamWorks Land. There are lily pad-shaped step stones on the ground.

Or hop on three pads to hear something that sounds like “Bud” “wis” “er.” The mouths of the frogs move as they make different noises.

Mama Luna’s Feline Fiesta is an interactive experience. This location was previously Shrek’s Swamp Meet and the Barney Shop before that. The area has a new look with an entrance gate that reads “Mama’s Luna’s” across the top.

A family observes exhibits in a brightly colored, enclosed space with various decorative displays on the walls and interactive stations. The open-air room at DreamWorks Land has a tiled floor and a wooden ceiling.

Inside, guests can interact with screens. Turning cranks and pushing buttons causes the objects on the screens to react.

Trolls Trollercoaster

Two adults enter DreamWorks Land, an amusement park area themed with colorful trolls, passing under a decorative archway with a roller coaster in the background. Various troll characters are displayed on either side of the entrance.

Trolls Trollercoaster is the only actual ride in the land and is a retheme of Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster. This family-friendly coaster takes guests on a caterpillar Caterbus ride.

Construction Walls Take Up Most of Morocco Pavilion Entrance at EPCOT

Construction walls now take up most of the entrance courtyard of the Morcoco Pavilion in EPCOT. This latest round of construction work began in March.

Morocco Pavilion Construction

A group of people walk past a construction barrier at the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot. The pavilion features traditional Moroccan architecture with a tall tower in the background under a cloudy sky.

The walls cut across the front of the pavilion, with tables and chairs set up against them. The only way to walk further into the pavilion is down a thin walkway in front of Tangierine Café.

Construction barriers are set up in an outdoor plaza with tables and chairs, partially obscuring architectural features, including a tall tower with intricate designs.

The gallery featuring “Race Against The Sun” remains open, with access around the construction walls.

People walking near a building with a large arched doorway, two trash cans, and an easel sign that says "Restaurant Marrakesh" at Epcot.

When we visited on Friday, a Cast Member was stationed at the front of the pavilion with a paddleboard sign advertising the Annual Passholder lounge. The limited-time lounge is in Restaurant Marrakesh at the back of the pavilion. An A-frame sign was also up advertising the Jasmine meet and greet.

People walking through a narrow passageway in an outdoor setting with construction walls on the left and stone walls on the right. A man in an orange shirt leads the group.

There are only a few feet of walking room on two sides of the construction walls.

A group of people, including children and adults, walk along a brick pathway beside construction barriers on a sunny day. A stroller and a seated person can be seen in the background.

Plants have been removed from this bed at the archway entrances to the rest of the pavilion. It’s currently full of mulch.

Three people walk past an ornate, arched doorway, set within an old, textured stone building.

There is no more scaffolding or scrim over the archways.

People walk through an ornate, arched entrance with intricate blue and beige tilework.

There don’t appear to be any design differences in this space. Construction work was likely basic maintenance.

A person is working at a small desk inside a room with textured walls. Outside, three people, including a child, are walking past the open doorway.

The walls stop before the pavilion’s Kidcot Fun Spot.

A person wearing a black shirt and gray shorts, with a red backpack, is entering a room through an ornate, partially open door.

It’s also through this alcove that guests can enter the gallery.

A hallway with intricate tiled walls, colorful stained glass doors, and two benches. Two people are seated on a bench to the right. A black barrier prevents entry through the doors.

Inside the gallery, stanchions block the main entrance.

The Morocco Pavilion has been under construction on and off since Disney took over ownership in 2020. Disney revamped Spice Road Table but never reopened Restaurant Marrakesh, although it remains listed on the Walt Disney World website as “temporarily unavailable.”

When compared to the rest of the carousel’s flooring, this section looks much cleaner and darker.

The horses aren’t just roped off for work on the floor. Crews are also repainting the entablature on the edge of the carousel’s roof. The tarps on the horses keep them protected.

The relief sculptures above the roped-off horses are partially repainted. The frieze features angelic figures with flags and eagles, leftover from when the attraction was The Liberty Carousel over 100 years ago. The Philadelphia Toboggan Company constructed the ride in 1917.

The printed tarp has been moved as more sections of the entablature are repainted.

There is currently almost no paint on this section around the image of the Fairy Godmother. There are touches of gold, including gold foil on the image’s frame. Some of the carousel’s lights have also been deactivated during work.
