The Galactic Gateway stage is undergoing a refurbishment, with a new color scheme beginning to take over.
Galactic Gateway Stage Refurbishment
Rolling planters remain around the Galactic Gateway stage, also called the Rockettower Plaza Stage, as refurbishment on the structure continues. Over the past three month, we’ve seen new paint going up on both the main stage and the tech booth that faces the stage. So far, the change marks a shift in color scheme, with the former mint green that was paired with futuristic silvers and grays changed to shades of blue.
In the latest update, the four shutters at the front of the stage have been repainted. They were formerly dark blue, with a lighter shade of blue in the slats, but are now a shade of gold.
This is likely not the final product, as the paint on the shutters is still patchy.
The rest of the front of the building has been stripped of its former paint job, which was white, with a dark blue stripe going up from the exterior shutters on each side.
The sides of exterior of the stage have been painted two different shades of blue. The area that is now light blue used to be white, while the dark blue sections were two different shades of green.
The color scheme continues on the back, with white and two different shades of blue paint. The stage has been home to meet and greets, dance parties, and stage shows in the past. It is located in between the Tomorrowland Joffrey’s Revive stand and Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress.

Disneyland Resort is currently seeking seasonal candidates for the character look-alike roles of Isabela and Luisa from “Encanto.”
Disney Casting Isabela and Luisa
The posting on the Disney Auditions website does not state exactly what kind of entertainment offering would feature Isable and Luisa. The posting mentions greetings and stage appearances, but that kind of generic information is included in most Disney casting calls.
The roles are seasonal, so Disney is not planning something permanent with the sisters, but additional entertainment opportunities may be available to the actors at the end of the season.
Here are the descriptions for Isabela and Luisa:
“ISABELA: (5’5″ – 5’9″) Isabela spreads joy and color in the Encanto, using her magical gift to make plants grow and flowers bloom. With each new cactus and palm tree, she’s discovering just how deep the roots of her creativity go.”
“LUISA: (5’10” – 6’1″) Sensitive and giving, Luisa is proud to shoulder the weight of her family’s burdens. With her gift of incredible strength, she looks after the Madrigals and the townsfolk, but also enjoys a chance to relax once in a while.”
The casting call is open through 1:50 p.m. PT on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a new dessert inspired by “Moana.” The “Fear the Kakamora Brownie Mousse” is available at Creature Comforts, the park’s Starbucks location.
Fear the Kakamora Brownie Mousse – $6.79
Fear the Kakamora Brownie Mousse features a chocolate brownie dusted with peppermint powdered sugar. That’s topped with a chocolate coconut piñata filled with coconut pineapple mousse. There are purple and green frosting decorations. The Kakamora’s is a white chocolate medallion.
The only thing to fear from this delicious dessert is the mess that comes with it! This tiny morsel packs a punch of flavors. Starting with the base, the brownie is definitely more cake than fudge, so it’s lighter than anticipated, which is great in Florida’s heat. We liked the subtle hints of peppermint dusted over it.
The piñata steals the show, however. The sweet notes of the coconut and pineapple complement the chocolate. The piñata also adds so much to what would otherwise be a lackluster brownie.
We could have done without the frosting details. The horn is fine — although it did fall off as soon as it hit the heat and everything started melting. The purple and green frosting will let everyone else know what you ate today.
It’s a very messy but very tasty dessert. We recommend picking it up on your way out and taking it back to your resort room to eat so you don’t look like the purple people eater.
It’s Instagrammable, fun, and experimental. Skip it if you don’t like coconut or chocolate.
