According to Deadline, Raven-Symoné is extending her relationship with Disney after the end of her TV series Raven’s Home. The show ended after its 6th season and will not return for a 7th, but Raven-Symoné has entered a deal with Disney to executive produce and direct the sitcom Alice in the Palace, which has received a pilot order.
Alice in the Palace is a spinoff of Raven’s Home, starring the show’s character Alice. It will follow the same multi-camera sitcom format as its predecessor. Alice in the Palace picks up with Alice (who is Raven’s young cousin) returning to England and reuniting with her doppelganger, Duchess Clementine. It’s your classic “swapping places” storyline, where each girl will get the chance to live the other’s lifestyle for a little while.
Outside of this, there are some other new entertainment offerings Disney’s releasing as well! The Wizards of Waverly Place sequel series now has a title — Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Disney shared photos of Selena Gomez and David Henrie reprising their roles for the new series, and Gomez will also serve as the executive producer. The internet went absolutely WILD when this show was announced back in January, so we know that plenty of Disney adults will be hyped for this one!
“The series follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.”

The new series has now been added to the Disney+ website and is listed as “coming soon.” So if you’re hyped for some new content with Zed, Addison, and friends, then now is the time!

Well, imagine everyone’s confusion when we all learned that this new attraction would be a walkthrough thing where you were allowed to play with water (with is keeping with the classic edutainment theme of EPCOT). Well, the attraction officially opened in 2023, and since then, we’ve heard some conspiracy theories (okay, so we might’ve also added our own) about Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana.
It contains the soul of Dwayne Johnson
So Dwayne Johnson, who voiced Maui in Moana and will be reprising his role in the live-action Moana and Moana 2, is a pretty vital part of the Moana story, right? Well, Disney knew that they needed to include him in some way in the EPCOT attraction. So they got Te Ka (Te Fiti’s darker alter ego) to trap his soul in the Heart of Te Fiti.
Okay, this didn’t happen…like at all. But Dwayne Johnson IS all about Moana and mentions it a lot on his social media, so it’s sort of believable, right?
So one thing we noticed around the time Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana opened is that the nearby The Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion got a change in paint color. The pavilion was painted a sand color, and the theory is that it was because you can see the building from inside the Moana attraction and its previous blue was distracting.
The Seas was repainted
Is this true? Who knows? But The Seas with Nemo and Friends did get a new paint job so that much is true.
When Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana started being tested and had early previews, there were times when other water features in EPCOT were turned off (we saw it at the Imagination Pavilion, Land Pavilion, and The Seas Pavilion). The theory is that EPCOT didn’t have enough water pressure for those things PLUS the new attraction.
Waterfall at Journey of Imagination Pavilion
Is this true? Who knows? But it makes sense, although you would think Imagineers would’ve figured that out. However, we’ve still seen times where the jumping fountains have been turned off at the Imagination Pavilion.
It IS odd that Disney chose to put a bathroom in the middle of this walkthrough attraction when rides with super long lines still don’t have bathroom access.
So there’s a thing where some people believe that the attraction closes when it rains. It IS an outdoor attraction, after all. And we all know all outdoor attractions close when it rains (or at least when there’s a storm). But this isn’t really a ride, so it’s a little different.
It doesn’t close when it rains unless there’s lightning nearby
A Cast Member told us that Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana when it will close even if it’s not raining hard if there has been lightning reported in the area (which is the rule of thumb for most outdoor attractions). That could explain why someone might think it closes if it rains even a little.
When Disney World showed off that massive Te Fiti figure in Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana, a lot of folks thought she would be one of the interactive features. Many people thought that if you waved your arms or made a certain kind of movement, it would cause Te Fiti to move in some way.
Te Fiti doesn’t move
However, as we’ve seen, that is not the case. But now we think Disney missed out on a very cool opportunity. Think at how AMAZING that Te Fiti would be if she just had a little bit of movement!
So as you can see, there has been some speculation about the ride, plus a few things we thought on our own. However, most of these things are probably untrue, but it’s fun to theorize, right?

Grandma groped Goofy. Those are the shocking allegations a cast member raised at EPCOT earlier this year, according to a recently released Orange County Sheriff’s report.
Cast Member Groped By Guest at Walt Disney World
The situation happened on February 19. The sheriff’s office confirmed Thursday that nobody has been arrested.
The report is heavily redacted, but here’s what we know.
The 32-year-old male cast member who worked as a costumed character was taking a picture around 10:30 a.m. with a family of four.
Three of the family members posed on his right while the grandma stood on his left side and put her arm around him, the victim said.
“The grandmother then placed her right hand on his ‘butt’ and squeezed her hand three times,” the report said. “During the squeezing the grandmother said, ‘Woo hoo!’”
After the photo was taken, the victim stopped the meet-and-greet to alert his attendant he had been groped. A park leader was also notified behind the scenes.
“The grandmother stated with an attitude ‘What? I guess he doesn’t want us here,’” according to the report. “The family then walked off.”
The grandma, whose name was not identified in the report, was described as being in her 60s and wearing leggings with a black Minnie Mouse shirt that read “Nana Mouse.”
A Disney photographer witnessed what happened and gave a statement to police but it’s partially redacted.
According to the photographer, “Goofy stopped the interaction with the family and was asking them to leave,” the report said. The photographer overheard the conversation among the family afterward.
“What did you do?” the father asked the grandma.
‘I didn’t do anything,” the grandma said. “Goofy wants us to leave now.”
The victim told law enforcement the grandma squeezed his butt over his costume. He wanted to prosecute her for battery.
Unfortunately, it’s not the first time Disney guests have violated and mistreated cast members. Over the years, Disney World princesses, costumed characters, and other cast members have reported visitors grabbing them inappropriately.
Tickets for the 2024 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party are now available to all guests with savings offered to Disney Vacation Club members and Annual Passholders for all dates in August and September.
