Dark Universe will bring tons of classic monsters to Epic Universe. We’ve already seen some sneak peeks of the land and one roller coaster within, thanks to bioreconstruct on Twitter/X. But now, we have the full details about all the rides and attractions in this spooky land.

Dark Universe’s signature attraction is going to be the massive E-Ticket level attraction Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

Located in the facade of a massive manor, this ride’s official synopsis from Universal reads, “Dr. Victoria Frankenstein continues the work of her ancestors deep below the family estate. A demonstration of her experiments to control monsters goes awry when Dracula leads a revolt of enraged monsters including The Wolf Man, The Mummy, the Creature from the Black Lagoon and more.”

According to Universal, the attraction will be a “state of the art dark ride” that will “defy what you think of a theme park attraction. ” The attraction’s ride system has long been rumored to be a Kuka Arm vehicle similar to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, which seems to be verified by vehicles that look quite similar to those featured on the Potter attraction in the newly released concept art pictured above.  They also claim that the ride will have the most technologically advanced animated figures ever built.

The land’s second attraction will be a spinning family coaster themed to The Wolf Man.

According to the official synopsis of Curse of the Werewolf, guests will enter the Guild of Mystics and be “greeted by Maleva, the guild’s all-knowing seer and leader, who warns them that they bear the mark of the werewolf. Guests then board a wagon and venture into the forest, racing to escape the werewolves before they become one themselves.”

In addition to these two major attractions, Dark Universe will also feature a Monster Makeup Experience, where “monster makers have converted Dr. Pretorius’ infamous old lab into a parlor and skilled artisans use their talents to transform guests into a likeness of their favorite Universal Monsters.”

Finally, there will be several meet and greet opportunities in the land, giving guests the opportunity to interact with characters including but nit limited to Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s Monster and the “alluring” Bride of Frankenstein, Victoria Frankenstein’s servant, Ygor, and The Invisible Man, “an eccentric monster hunter and a talented musician who regales guests with songs and tales related to classic monster stories.”

Monstrous meet & greets

We can’t wait to ride them! Epic Universe, including all five new themed lands, will open in 2025. The project has been called Universal’s “most ambitious theme park yet,” with “more than 50 awe-inspiring attractions, entertainment, dining, and shopping experiences.” In fact, this park will almost DOUBLE the size of Universal Orlando.
