“Freaky Friday” (2003) was the third adaptation of a 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers. The first, also produced by Disney, was “Freaky Friday” (1976). It was followed by two sequels: “Summer Switch” (1984) and “A Billion for Boris” (1985). “Disney’s Freaky Friday” (1995) then aired on ABC for “The Wonderful World of Disney.” The most recent adaptation was the musical “Freaky Friday,” a Disney Channel Original Movie that premiered in 2018. It was based on Disney Theatrical Productions’ 2016 stage musical.

In the 2003 “Freaky Friday,” Curtis portrays Tess, an uptight psychiatrist, and Lohan portrays Anna, her rebellious daughter. After an argument and with the help of magical fortune cookies, the two switch bodies, forcing them to see the world from each other’s perspective. No plot details about the sequel have been announced.
