One of the most FUN parts of visiting Disney World is meeting the characters — Disney World character interactions are the BEST!

We’ve had some amazing interactions with many of the Disney princesses, Mickey and his friends, Pixar characters, and more. We’ve visited almost all the character meet and greet locations in Disney World, plus we’ve eaten at all of the character dining experiences. However, these special meet-and-greets become even more special when you get to experience a rare one, and we’ve got a SUPER rare meet-and-greet experience to tell you about that is coming up soon.
So there’s a HUGE holiday coming up in the U.S. soon, and yes, you know what we’re talking about. It’s the 4th of July, which means there are some special rare celebratory things happening all over Disney World. First, you’ll get to see the 4th of July fireworks in Magic Kingdom that only happen once a year. There’s also usually a special fireworks show that happens right after the nighttime show in EPCOT, Luminous The Symphony of Us.

You’ll also occasionally find some 4th of July decorations up in Magic Kingdom; some buildings get a 4th of July makeover. The banners are already up on the Main Street Railroad Station near the entrance to the park.

Then, of course, you’ll find a share of 4th of July snacks, most of which will be done up in red, white, and blue. These snacks are only available for a limited time.

However, the BEST limited-time event that comes to Disney World for the 4th of July happens in EPCOT. If you visit the American Adventure Pavilion in World Showcase on the 4th of July, you’ll get to meet Mickey and his friends — and they’re wearing their special patriotic outfits. This is the ONLY time you’ll see them in these outfits, so this meet and greet is a must!

So, if you’ll be in Disney World for the 4th of July, keep an eye out for that meet and greet. We will warn you that lines can be long for it, but it’s totally worth it. Of course, if you want to just meet these characters elsewhere, you can meet most of them in all four parks — check the My Disney Experience app for locations and times.
