The magical box office run of “Inside Out 2” doesn’t show any signs of letting up. The film is already one of the 10-highest-grossing animated films in domestic box office history, and on Friday, the film’s total global box office reached $863.2 million, topping the $858.8 million made by the original. Domestically, Pixar’s newest film has already grossed over $50 million more than its predecessor.

The film is already the 38th-highest-grossing film ever at the domestic box office. This weekend it should pass “Toy Story 3” and “Toy Story 4” to become the third-highest-grossing Pixar movie ever domestically. “Incredibles 2” still holds the title as the highest-grossing animated film at the domestic box office with $608.5 million.

Globally, “Inside Out 2” has passed “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” to become the 86th-highest-grossing film ever. It still has quite a bit of work to do before catching the highest-grossing animated film ever. That title belongs to “Frozen II” which earned $1.4 billion globally.

Forecasters are projecting that “Inside Out 2” will see continued box office success, even though it may be dethroned as the top movie of the weekend by “A Quiet Place: Day One.” (via Deadline)
