The exterior of the former KidZone Pizza Company at Universal Studios Florida has been repainted with solid shades of blue.
KidZone Pizza Company Repainted
Temporary fencing blocks access to the restaurant, which is usually only open on the weekends. The building’s marquee is now a bright shade of blue. The walls, columns, and overhang ceiling are a lighter blue.
The building was previously red with large colorful stars on the facade. A red line of pavement remains on the ground connecting the columns. Red tape around the bottoms of the columns protects the pavement from dripping paint.
Crews removed the large orb covers of the mounted lamps, but they were still illuminated.
We knew the restaurant would be repainted soon after its sign was recently removed. The nearby restrooms were also repainted, losing KidZone theming. The Woody Woodpecker statue holding a pizza was removed last summer, a few months after Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone closed permanently.
Most of KidZone was transformed into DreamWorks Land. KidZone Pizza Company is located on the other side of E.T. Adventure and SpongeBob StorePants, technically now part of the park’s Hollywood section. Hopefully, it will get new theming and not just be a blue building.
The blue is similar to the steel blue color of SpongeBob StorePants’ marquee.
