Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is officially open and that means an update to the Walt Disney World Railroad that circles Magic Kingdom. The railroad now has new narration about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and riders can see into the attraction’s finale thanks to an uncovered window.
As guests enter Frontierland, the narrator mentions the Country Bears and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. He then says:
On a more musical note, Princess Tiana is striking up the band for her big party. She made me promise to tell you folks you’re invited.
Just before pulling into the station, guests see through a window overlooking the finale. They can hear Tiana singing the ride’s original song, “Special Spice.” See and hear the updates in our video below.
The Walt Disney World Railroad received all new narration that still mentioned Splash Mountain in 2022. Soon after, Splash closed and was removed from the railroad. An “Almost There” reference to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was added temporarily.

With the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, Tiana’s Bayou General is now open. This gift shop is located at the exit of the attraction and is the former Splashdown Photos.
Before entering the store, guests can attach their on-ride photo to their MagicBand or ticket. Photos appear on screens in colorful wooden frames, while the Mickey tap points are on hanging washboard.
Tiana’s Bayou General advertises groceries, housewares, dry goods, and more.
A plaque next to the entrance says the store is “dedicated to our friends and neighbors” and was established in 1927.
The interior is decorated like an old-fashioned general store. There are shelves packed with retro grocery items.
These are props and not for sale. Items include watering cans, laundry soap, and recipe books.
One recipe book is “Meals of Maldonia,” Naveen’s home country. The other is “Tiana’s Family Recipes.”
The columns of the store are fake trees growing through the shop.
A banner hanging between trees reads, “Happy Mardi Gras from your friends at Tiana’s Bayou General.” Like much of the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure decorations, this banner is the main colors of Mardi Gras — green, purple, and gold.
There are murals in wooden frames that make for the perfect photo ops. One near the entrance door features Mama Odie with the light of the ride’s climactic lift hill behind her. Bottle lanterns hang from trees around her.
This mural features artwork of Louis and some critters riding a log down the salt dome. There are bottles and fireflies around them. The murals’ frames are topped with crates, some labeled “Tiana’s Foods.”
Claude and Bernadette, two Louisiana black bears that appear on the ride, are featured in this mural. The ride’s salt dome façade and Tiana’s Foods water tower are behind them.
The backdrops are lit by lights built into the tops of the frames.
The last mural sees Tiana, Louis, and Naveen dancing in front of Tiana’s Palace. The Tiana’s Foods water tower is silhouetted in the background. Fireworks go off overhead.
Oars and a shelf of supplies are mounted on the wall.
Painted on the wall behind the cash wrap is “Bring Home the Bayou.” Mounted around the painted words are various signs for products like C’est Beau Brand sweet peas, Julias & Co. powdered laundry soap, Dr. Miga’s moustache wax, and Bayou Best vegetables.
Another wall features a Tiana’s Foods sign, a “now hiring” ad, and a framed “Cookery” magazine cover featuring Tiana.
Bottled sodas and water are available to purchase from a cooler labeled “Refreshments.” A Tiana’s Foods crate, okra box, and hot sauce box are among the props on top.
Another metal sign advertises Tiana’s Palace: “Enjoy jazz and New Orleans cuisine on the bank of the Mississippi River.”
A King Cake is on one shelf alongside boxes of King Cake mix and other ingredients.
A bulletin board is labeled “Deliveries.”
Pinned to the board is a delivery ledger. It lists various orders for some of the products seen in the store.
A letter reads:
Dear Princess Tiana,
Thank you so much for inviting us to the big party at your house. Please tell the musicians that they were the best band I ever heard in my whole life, which is a very long time because I am almost eight years old already.

A hand-written note on Tiana’s Palace stationery reads:

For the opening day of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, new merchandise inspired by the ride is available at the Emporium and Uptown Jewelers on Main Street, U.S.A.
This includes the standard Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merch we previously shared plus opening day items, Passholder-exclusive items, Dooney & Bourke bags, and a Pandora charm.
At least for opening day, there is a special queue at the Emporium for guests shopping for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise. Cast Members are stationed outside with signs.
The Emporium was packed with guests on the morning of June 28.
The opening season pin depicts the finale of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Tiana is in her green party dress at the center, with her family and friends behind her. They’re playing music and dancing in front of Tiana’s yellow house.
The leaves of trees full of fireflies hang over the house. A plaque at the bottom features the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure wordmark. It comes on a blue backing card featuring waves and fireflies.
This tee is blue and features artwork of Louis and other critters splashing down the salt dome in a log. “2024” is on the front of the log. “Let’s Get to the Party!” is across the top. The design is available in sizes XS through 3XL.
The youth tee is light blue. Critters are pictured in a log splashing into water, while Louis and Tiana are behind them. The salt dome is in the background. It reads, “Shortcut to the Bayou!” Sizes available are XXS through XL.
The Passholder-exclusive pin features similar artwork as the youth T-shirt. Critters are in a log with water splashing around them. Tiana and Louis are pictured behind them with the silhouette of the Tiana’s Foods water tower. “Passholder” is down the side in orange lettering. A dangling charm features the Walt Disney World retro wordmark.
The same artwork is on the Passholder T-shirt, which is a light beige. “Passholder,” “Magic Kingdom,” and “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” are all in orange lettering. Sizes available at the time of release are XS through 3XL
The Dooney & Bourke collection is available at Uptown Jewelers. It includes two bags and a wallet.
The crossbody has a curved top with a zipper. It includes a handle and a detachable crossbody strap. The pattern is Art Deco-inspired and features Tiana in her white “Almost There” outfit. The background is shades of emerald and sage green with gold outlines. Pink lily flowers are framing Tiana.
The bag’s details and handles are made of brown leather. The hardware is gold tone.
The handle’s trim is sage green.
The interior lining is red-brown. There’s a slip pocket inside, too.
The tote features a similar green and gold Art Deco background. It has a larger image of Tiana in the center of the front and back. She’s wearing her lilypad-inspired wedding dress and tiara, and standing in front of a pair of golden frames.
This bag also has brown leather handles and trim.
There are pink lily flowers, dangling leaves, and reeds incorporated into the Art Deco design.
The wallet features the same pattern as the crossbody bag. It’s rectangular and includes a wristlet strap.
The fabric around the zipper is brown.
There’s a slip pocket on the back of the wallet.
The zip compartment has several slots and a zip coin pouch inside.
The Pandora charm comes in a pink box. It’s on a black ribbon set against a black velvet cushion.
The circular slider charm is silver with gems around the edges. One side features a blue circle with Tiana pictured in the center. She’s wearing her new adventuring outfit including a lime green shirt and pink ascot.
The other side also features a blue circle. This one has the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure wordmark in the center.
The Pandora charm is also available at Uptown Jewelers.

The NEW Magic Kingdom ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is open NOW (on June 28th), and now that it’s open to everyone, we’re here to tell you how the queue and boarding process will work. As many fans predicted, the ride uses a virtual queue to manage demand, and now we know exactly how that virtual queue works.
Disney announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure uses a virtual queue in Magic Kingdom. This has become Disney’s go-to strategy for managing demand for popular rides. A couple of other rides that have a virtual queue in Disney World right now include Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Here, we’ll be covering a step-by-step guide for getting in the virtual queue, but if you’d like to skip to a specific topic, check these articles out below:
But now, onto the step-by-step guide!
Let’s start at the beginning. A virtual queue is a tool available through the My Disney Experience app (Disney World) or the Disneyland app (Disneyland Resort) that allows guests to reserve a space in line for the most popular park attractions ahead of time from their phones. If you’re able to secure a spot in the virtual queue, you will be assigned a boarding group, and then you’ll use that individual boarding pass to enter the line when it’s time to ride.

Having a virtual queue means there is no standby line available, so you have only two options to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: the virtual queue or buying an Individual Lightning Lane. Disney did share that this could change in the future, but for now, there is no traditional standby line.
Here’s everything you need to access the virtual queue through the My Disney Experience App:
The virtual queue works exactly the same as the one for TRON Lightcycle/Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind; you can hop from another park and join the virtual queue once you enter Magic Kingdom in the afternoon, IF spots are still available.
You’ll first want to make sure that you have the My Disney Experience app installed on your phone and that it’s updated to the latest version.

Sign into your Disney account and check that the following things are linked to your account:
The virtual queue will open at 7AM and again at 1PM. You can be anywhere for the first opportunity but must be in Magic Kingdom to snag one at 1PM.
You can confirm your party up to an hour in advance of the virtual queue opening. This will help ensure everyone is linked to the reservation.
Make sure you have the right people on your list!
On the app, under “Join Virtual Queue,” you’ll find a button that says “Confirm Your Party.”
At EXACTLY 7AM (or 1PM), join the virtual queue by clicking the button. We suggest using a world clock on another device to be accurate to the second.

From here, move quickly through the prompts to land that Virtual Queue spot! These spots are gone in seconds, so when we say move fast, we really mean it.
The app will notify you immediately if you have successfully booked a space in the Virtual Queue with an assigned Boarding Group Number.

If you’re successful in joining the queue, you will receive a boarding group. Disney calls boarding groups back in sections, and once your group is called back, you’ll receive a notification from the My Disney Experience app telling you to head back to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. You’ll have one hour to return once your group is called.
Although Disney doesn’t give you a return time, you can track the progress of the virtual queue on the app to get a fairly good estimate of when your group will be called.
If you have not received a boarding group, you can choose to buy Genie+, soon to be called Lightning Lane Multi Pass, to ride the attraction. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is one of the many rides included in Disney’s paid skip-the-line service. While it may be expensive, these will also book up fast, so we suggest grabbing a Lightning Lane reservation ASAP if you really want to ride.

During the first few weeks that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is open, it may be more challenging to secure a boarding group than once the ride is open for a few months. On the first day of the opening, virtual queue spots were gone within a few seconds at the 7AM drop. You have to be FAST.

The day has finally come! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is officially OPEN at Disney World!

Going forward, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be available to ride as part of Disney Genie+, which is soon to be called Lightning Lane Multi Pass. That means this ride does NOT have an individual (or a la carte) Lightning Lane. To ride, you can purchase Genie+ for Magic Kingdom (or get the multi-park Genie+ option) and reserve a Lightning Lane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Or, you can join the FREE virtual queue for the ride, meaning Disney will send you a notification when it’s your turn to ride. So…you’re probably wondering…how fast did Genie+ sell out on OPENING DAY? Well, we’re here to tell ya!
On June 28th, the opening day for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Genie+ sold out in one minute. Literally — sixty seconds! After refreshing the screen twice at 7AM, by 7:01, the virtual queue was full.

Minutes later, Genie+ also sold out for Magic Kingdom and Multiple Parks. The good news is that only the Magic Kingdom and Multi-Park options sold out, though, so if you’re visiting another park and hoping to score Genie+ for that park only, this likely won’t affect you!

You may have heard a lot about Disney’s new ride — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which opens on June 28th in the Magic Kingdom. And there’s been lots of discussion about Disney’s changes to its skip the line paid service (which used to be Genie+ but is now called Lightning Lane Multi Pass). But there are also two MAJOR attractions opening in Disney World in July that you need to know about!
The Country Bear Jamboree show in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom is being updated in some major ways — and it re-opens on July 17th, 2024!

The show featuring animatronic bears is a Disney World classic, but it’s getting all new songs and the bears are getting new outfits! Disney has worked with producers and artists in Nashville to arrange some fan-favorite Disney songs in country genres such as rockabilly and bluegrass! The show is heavily influenced by the Opry-style shows that originated in Nashville.
The new show will open with Trixie singing “Try Everything” from Zootopia. Trixie will be voiced by Emily Ann Roberts, a country and gospel singer who rose to fame as a contestant on “The Voice.”

And Grammy winners Allison Russell and Chris Thile recorded “A Whole New World” from Aladdin for the show! We also know that a rockabilly-style “Bare Necessities” will be featured.
We know that the updated character outfits will feature plenty of ten-gallon hats, bolo ties, bandanas, and more.

If you’ve never watched the Country Bear Jamboree before, you may want to give it a try. Bonus: It’s a great place to rest your feet in some air conditioning! We can’t wait to see the whole show when it opens July 17th!
Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been closed for refurbishment since early January.

This Aerosmith-themed roller coaster will re-open on July 27th! When the coaster first opened in 1999, it was the first major thrill coaster at Walt Disney World, and the first to have an inversion at any of Disney’s then-five American theme parks.
This ride has had frequent down time and was also closed for several months in 2023 for maintenance.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
There have been rumors for several years that Disney is planning to re-theme the roller coaster to feature a different band — everything from Queen to The Muppets have been mentioned. But Disney has made no announcements indicating anything will be changed on the ride when it re-opens.

Who’s ready for an adventure with Disney Cruise Line?

Okay, we’re totally being tongue-in-cheek, because we’re about to tell you some NEW details about the seventh ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, the Disney Adventure. The Disney Adventure’s home port will be in Singapore and will offer 3-and 4-night cruises. Let’s just say some new details have dropped about the ship that have us checking flights to Singapore for the ship’s maiden voyage (which we don’t even have a date for yet).
The Disney Adventure will feature stories from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel and is being referred to Disney Cruise Line’s “biggest adventure yet.” Okay, that’s got our attention. Disney just released some new details about what you can expect on the ship — and we are EXCITED. The ship will “be packed with immersive experiences and entertainment featuring beloved characters where families can create memories to last a lifetime… without ever leaving the ship!”

The Disney Adventure will feature the Disney Imagination Garden, an “enchanted valley inspired by more than 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney stories.” The garden will feature nods to The Jungle Book, Moana, and more. The space will also feature performances on an open-air stage.
The ship will also have Disney Discovery Reef where you can “travel down to the ocean floor” to explore the worlds and settings of The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, and Luca. This area will also feature unique shops and restaurants.

In Town Square, you’ll get to visit an enchanted forest full of shops, lounges, cafes, restaurants, and entertainment venues based on the fantasy settings of Tangled, Cinderella, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Princess and the Frog, and more.
Marvel Landing will offer an “Avengers-level adventure featuring thrilling attractions” and an all-new experience. Yes, Disney said ATTRACTIONS. New Marvel attractions on a ship, y’all!
Little Ones will get to visit Toy Story Place where they can hang out with friends from Andy’s Room in an interactive water play area with different themed food spots.
Cruising with Disney is the best!
The Disney Adventure is currently under construction in Germany and is expected to have a capacity big enough for around 6,700 people plus 2,500 crew members. Disney has not yet revealed a timeline for its maiden voyage, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for more details and share them as we learn more.

But don’t forget that important step of breaking them in first!
