New Magic Kingdom Guidemap Featuring Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Country Bear Musical Jamboree Now Available

Walt Disney World now has a new Magic Kingdom guidemap available, featuring the drop on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and a mention of Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

New Magic Kingdom Guidemap

A hand holding a Magic Kingdom guidemap featuring "Tiana's Bayou Adventure" cover stands before a park entrance with people walking in the background.

The front of the map features a blue-to-purple gradient border, with the foliage-covered salt mine centered on the cover. A log just barely emerges from the opening, ready to careen down the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure drop. The logo for the ride is printed at the bottom of the image, just above “guidemap.”

A hand holds a colorful pamphlet titled "Fantasy Reigns" with sections detailing new attractions, experiences, shopping, and app features. Storefront and various items are visible in the blurred background.

Within the first fold, various sections are highlighted under “Fantasy Reigns,” including the “New Magic” of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — which opens today, June 28 — and Smellephants on Parade.

Under “Attractions,” the upcoming reimagined Country Bear Musical Jamboree gets a mention, which is set to reopen to guests on July 17, 2024. To the right is a highlight for TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Other featured offerings are “Happily Ever After,” the Emporium, and Liberty Tree Tavern. To the right is an advertisement for the My Disney Experience app, detailing all of its features.

Fully opening up the Magic Kingdom guidemap, we can see the overhead illustrated view of the park alongside the legend detailing the park’s attractions and important locations.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is now featured on the map as an available attraction, rather than a “coming soon” teaser. The virtual map of Magic Kingdom on My Disney Experience and the Walt Disney World website was updated to include a detailed artist rendering of the attraction back in May 2024.

According to the Magic Kingdom guidemap legend, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is listed as “25,” and Critter Co-Op is listed as “33.” At this time, Tiana’s Bayou General, the other gift shop for the attraction, is not listed.

Country Bear Musical Jamboree is included in the legend as “29.”

Gertie the Dinosaur’s Tail Wrapped in Tarps at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Gertie the Dinosaur’s tail in Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is currently wrapped in tarps, likely for a refurbishment.

Gertie the Dinosaur’s Tail Cast

We first spotted the tail cast over a week ago. Gertie’s tail sits partially on the beach of Echo Lake. But when viewed from most angles, it looks like it’s sticking out of the water behind the body of the dinosaur.

A large, green dinosaur statue stands in a pond surrounded by greenery. A bench is in the foreground, and a boat is visible in the background under a partly cloudy sky. For a perfect headline, this picturesque scene could draw attention with carefully chosen SEO keywords.

When we initially saw the tarps, some of Gertie’s tail had clearly been removed. The tarps covered a support for the tail structure.

A person in an orange top stands near a large dinosaur tail sculpture in a park, with a ship in the background. Other people sit on benches and enjoy the sunny weather.

Now, the tail has been restored. The tarps remain but the tail looks taller and smoother than it did a week ago.

A large green dinosaur tail sculpture emerges from dense greenery in a park surrounded by palm trees and lush plants.

The tarps are pulled taut and are a similar color to the rest of Gertie, so they almost blend in. It’s possible the tail’s exterior was replaced but hasn’t been repainted yet. The bottom of the tail gets dirty and worn from the water, so the structural integrity may have been compromised.

For comparison, above is a photo of Gertie with her tail currently wrapped in tarps and below is Gertie and her unwrapped tail during Christmas time.

The life-size dinosaur sculpture is the home to Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction. The venue is a tribute to “Gertie the Dinosaur,” a 1914 silent film by Winsor McCay. “Gertie the Dinosaur” was one of the first-ever animated films and inspired Walt Disney, particularly influencing the dinosaur sequence of “Fantasia.”
