A bunch of Pixar-themed treats just arrived in Disney World, and you know we had to try them ALL!
One of the new treats is a POG-flavored float, and as HUGE fans of POG, we were super excited about this one especially. But we also grabbed an incredibly chocolatey donut, an adorable cupcake, the most gorgeous little cake, and more. Let’s check them all out!
Some of these treats are available for a limited time, and if Disney has announced the end date, we’ve included it in our review. However, others were just announced as arriving on June 10th with no end date listed, so we’re crossing our fingers that those stick around longterm! Most of these can be found in Hollywood Studios, but that gorgeous petit cake we mentioned before is at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs.
OK, enough with the info — let’s eat some treats!
Frazzled Float
You can get this treat for $6.79 at Epic Eats. It’s available from June 10th through September 6th.
The float is made with Minute Maid passion fruit, orange, and guava juice; Sprite; vanilla soft-serve; and chocolate sauce. It’s topped with candied orange and chocolate bark.
We were SO excited to be trying a new POG-flavored snack, but this one was…odd. We couldn’t quite place the flavor of the drink part of it because we wanted it to be either an orange Fanta-type soda or just POG juice (not sparkling) and it actually fell somewhere in the middle. It was bubbly and sweet because of the Sprite but still had that POG flavor, and although we could see that working in theory, it really just tasted kind of strange.
The ice cream and chocolate bark were tasty, especially when combined with that POG flavor, but we couldn’t get past the odd mixture of POG juice and Sprite.
If you’re a huge fan of POG juice, this one might be worth a try, but we probably won’t be picking it up again.
Incredibles Chocolate Cake
The Incredibles Chocolate Cake is now available at the ABC Commissary, and Disney hasn’t announced how long it’ll stick around. It costs $6.29.
This treat is chocolate cake covered with dark chocolate ganache and topped with lemon and strawberry buttercream and strawberry jam.
This treat was decadent! It’s a rich chocolate cake with a thin outer coating of ganache all over it. The fruit-flavored toppings with the dark chocolate are very tasty.
The lemon is more prominent than the strawberry, but when you get just strawberry with the chocolate, those were our favorite bites.
The strawberry jam is thick, and there’s not a ton of it, so we could have used a little more to cut through that rich chocolate.
The chocolate piece on top is cute and gives the treat a great thematic element. Overall it’s a fairly simple treat but one we’d definitely get again if we wanted something decadent and sweet!
Lightning McQueen Spare Tire
The Lightning McQueen Spare Tire can be found at Rosie’s All-American Café for $5.79.
This is a chocolate cake doughnut filled with raspberry jam enrobed in dark chocolate mousse, coconut glaze, chocolate flakes, and a chocolate coin.
We didn’t have super high hopes for this treat, but it really surprised us in the best way! It’s VERY chocolatey, so this is definitely one for those chocoholics out there.
Because of how rich and chocolatey it is, we think it’s very shareable. The chocolate and coconut are the strongest flavors at first, but once you get some of that raspberry flavor from the jam in the middle, it cuts through the chocolate and gives a great burst of fruitiness.
Since it’s so heavy and rich, we probably wouldn’t recommend getting this right before you ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster or Slinky Dog Dash, as it might upset your stomach, but it’s a great treat to grab if you’re just going to walk around or do a little shopping.
We think kids will love this treat, especially with the Lightning McQueen theme!
Mike Wazowski Cupcake
Head to Backlot Express to get the Mike Wazowski Cupcake for $6.29!
This is a vanilla cake filled with raspberry jam topped with pistachio buttercream and butterscotch chips.
The pistachio and raspberry paired together was an excellent combination. The vanilla cupcake wasn’t really anything special on its own, but it was a solid base for the sweet raspberry filling.
The pistachio flavor is prominent in the icing, and we loved the combination of all three flavors together — pistachio, raspberry, and vanilla.
The theming is also super cute, and we think parents will appreciate that the green buttercream won’t leave the little ones stained green!
It’s a simple but delicious treat, and we think anyone looking for a tasty snack will enjoy this.
Feeling Kinda Blue-Berry Chai Iced Latte
You can find the Feeling Kinda Blue-berry Chai Iced Latte at Market, Neighborhood Bakery, and Catalina Eddie’s in Hollywood Studios. It’ll be available at those locations from June 10th through July 26th. It’s available at Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs from June 10th through July 14th. We picked it up for $5.99.
This drink is a blueberry-flavored Chai Iced Latte with notes of clove, cinnamon, and orange blossom.
This was a VERY sweet drink! The blueberry flavor is prominent, but we could definitely taste the spices as well.
The spices give it almost a gingerbread taste, like if you had a gingerbread cookie with blueberry icing on top.
On a hot day, this was a great sweet drink to cool off and give us a little sugar rush.
Inside Out 2 Petit Cake
The Inside Out 2 Petit Cake is available at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs from June 10th through July 14th.
This is a cake made with layers of vanilla chiffon, peanut butter mousse, strawberry jam, with crushed peanuts and crispy pearls. It’s pretty expensive at $22.
The best way we can describe this treat is a PB&J cake! It’s really delicious and nostalgic. The crushed peanuts inside add a great crunch, but they’re not super prevalent (more of a fun surprise when you get them in a bite).
The vanilla chiffon cake is light and spongy, although the layers of cake are very thin compared to the layers of mousse and jam.
The theming is super cute, and we thought the PB&J flavor matched the whimsical tone of the cake very well.
This might have been one of our favorite Amorette’s treats ever! Although $22 is a hefty price, we didn’t regret buying this tasty little cake.
Even though the flavors are elevated, we think kids will still love this one because of the familiar PB&J taste.
Popcorn Bucket and Sipper
You can get the Pixar Pizza Planet Truck Popcorn Bucket at various popcorn carts, including the ones in the Hollywood Boulevard courtyard (near Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and over by Hollywood Brown Derby), and at Neighborhood Bakery.
The popcorn bucket costs $26, but note that they’re more expensive at the popcorn carts in the courtyard because the county taxes on that side of the park are higher.
The Slinky Dog Sipper is available at various vending carts throughout the park and costs $12.79.
