Universal Orlando Team Member Matt Heid shared a sneak peek of the resort’s new nighttime spectacular, “CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular.”
Heid shared some quick clips of the lagoon show on Instagram. Watch the embedded video below or watch on Instagram.
The included music is the Universal Studios theme available on Instagram and the show’s original score.
Movies and franchises represented in the clips Heid shared include “The Mummy,” “How to Train Your Dragon,” Universal Monsters, “Ghostbusters,” and Minions. Effects include the use of 228 fountains and mist screens, 4K projection mapping on the buildings around the Universal Studios Florida lagoon, and fireworks.
In the video, the show’s over 600 drones create images of Toothless, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and the Transformers Autobots logo.
Universal Orlando Resort has not offered a nighttime lagoon show since 2022, when a hurricane damaged the lagoon projectors. Universal canceled the Halloween Horror Nights show “Ghoulish: A Halloween Tale.” In 2023, Universal announced Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration would not return, and a new show would take its place. “CineSational” will debut on June 14 and be performed on select nights.
