If you have a day planned in Disney Springs, you’ll want to plan to have some lunch while you’re doing all that shopping…if you can ever manage to leave the seductive World of Disney store, that is (we know, it’s SO hard).
Now, there are a lot of GREAT lunch options in Disney Springs, including some of our favorite restaurants. You could grab some quick bites to go, but if you’re looking to save a little bit of money (because…you know…all that shopping!), you might want to head on over to Raglan Road for the special summer lunch menu, which offers cheaper versions of many of Raglan Road’s existing lunch menu. Say what? Want to know what that’s all about? Well, we checked it out for you!
Raglan Road did something similar last year with its Summer Plates menu, and it was such a hit that the restaurant decided to bring it back this year for the Summer Lovin’ lunch Menu. We were invited to a media event to check out the new menu PLUS see what’s new with the restaurant. One of the first things we got to see was the newly remodeled Raglan Room inside the restaurant.
The idea for changing the room was to reflect the family rooms in Ireland. There, it’s typical for older generations in pubs to turn them over to a younger generation, so this new room is representative of that.
Now on to the Summer Lovin’ lunch menu. It’s available on Monday through Friday from 11AM to 3PM. This menu will run through September and will offer a value meal for those who aren’t on the Disney Dining Plan or are looking for a great meal at a cheaper price during their day away from the parks. The menu features select Raglan Road appetizers, entrees, desserts, and cocktails.
Cocktails are $10 each, including the Iced Irish (Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey, butterscotch, Baileys Salted Caramel, cold brew coffee, and whipped cream), Rosemary Maple Whiskey Sour (Dickel 12 Tennessee Whisky, crushed rosemary, dark maple syrup, Fees foam, and lemon sour), Blueberry Mint Lemonade (blueberry flavored Vodka and fresh lemonade with blueberries and mint), Smokey Bee (Los Vecinos Smokey Mezcal, agave syrup, basil, fresh lemon juice, and Fees foam), and Blathanna Blossom (Gunpowder Irish Gin, Italicus Liqueur, butterfly pea extract, Fees foam, and fresh sour mix topped with prosecco).
We went for the Rosemary Maple Whiskey Sour, which is a low and smokey whiskey. The rosemary really pulls out more of the earthy flavors.
All appetizers are also $10 each. We tried the Sure I’m Frittered, which is a Broccoli and corn fritter with a sweetcorn puree and fire roasted pepper relish. The fritters are chewy and fresh and we loved the sauce — SO good. The vegetables that come with it are also super delish.
The Bang Bang Chicken is Buttermilk marinated fried chicken with a spicey bang bang mayonnaise. If that sounds good, well, it is! The creamy low-spice mayo over the chicken is almost sweet, with a hint of mild buffalo-like spice. The crispy fried chicken also added a nice texture to everything.
The Garlic Parmesan Chips are Frency Fry PERFECTION. The shredded cheese was delicious and the fries were wonderfully salted and crispy on the outside. We are NEVER not going to love cheesy fries, y’all.
You can also get the Soul Soup and Salad Combo for an appetizer (which could honestly be a meal, though). There were two soups to try, so we chose the Tomato and Gin Soup, which we might just say is the best tomato soup in Disney World. It’s salty and stays warm for a long time. There is almost something like a softened cream cheese folded into it, giving it an extra richness. We could eat this EVERY DAY.
The other soup options are the Pea and Ham Soup and a Country Veggie Soup.
The entrees menu, which is $20 per entree, includes some Raglan Road classics, like the Cookes of Dublin Slow Braised Beef Grilled Cheese Sandwich made with Braised beef, caramelized onions, mushrooms, pickled cucumbers, garlic aioli, and five cheese blend, grilled on sourdough with chips.
You can also order the Shepherd’s Pie To Try, made with Braised and pulled beef & lamb with root vegetables in a rich red wine jus with Irish peat smoked mashed potato.
Another option is The Slow Lamb, made with Braised lamb casserole with root vegetables, rosemary, topped with a thinly sliced potato. We also discovered that these entrees are shareable, and you may want to share some of the larger ones, like the sandwiches and burgers, especially if you’re getting an appetizer (plus bread service).
For those with a sweet tooth, Raglan Road’s desserts are available, except for the Apple Strudel, which will be debuting on the menu sometime soon.
So, if you’re looking for a good lunch option in Disney Springs that’s also a good value, stop by Raglan Road and get your eat on!
