Jon Landau was an Oscar-winning producer best known for his collaborations with James Cameron. Some of his most noteworthy films include “Avatar”, “Avatar: The Way of Water”, and “Titanic”, three of the four highest-grossing films of all time. “Avatar” is still the highest-grossing film worldwide, while “Titanic” was the first film to ever gross $1 billion at the box office.

Landau was integral in developing Pandora – The World of Avatar. He and Cameron collaborated with the Walt Disney Company to help bring the land and the attractions, Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey, to life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Earlier this year, Landau met with Walt Disney Imagineering to discuss the future of “Avatar” in the Disney Parks. An “Avatar” experience is planned for Disneyland Resort.

Landau was set to produce “Avatar 3”, “Avatar 4”, and “Avatar 5”. “Avatar 3” has already been filmed and is scheduled to release in December 2025.
