We just stayed at the BIGGEST Marriott hotel in the WORLD. And there was a MERMAID PARTY. Also, a WATER PARK. If that doesn’t grab your attention, I’m really not sure what will.
Marriott recently invited us to stay at the Orlando World Center Marriott, which, as we mentioned, is the largest Marriott hotel in the world with over 2,000 guest rooms and suites. It boasts a water park (with seven water slides and a lazy river), another pool area, a spa, eight restaurants, an 18-hole golf course, and more. Come with us to check it all out!
Location
The Orlando World Center Marriott is located at 8701 World Center Drive, Orlando, Florida, 32821. It’s just a 15-minute drive to Magic Kingdom and about 10 minutes away from Disney Springs. The location is marked in red in the bottom, righthand corner of this map, and you can see several Disney World landmarks just to the left, across I-4.
Price and Other Details
Room prices depend on which kind of room and view you choose. We checked pricing on a couple of weekdays in August (which should be a less busy time) and also on a weekend in December (which should be a very busy time). On each search, the room prices were the same. It’s possible that surge pricing does happen sometimes, but based on our research, it doesn’t appear to change the prices very much.
We found the following prices:
- $320/night for a room with one king bed
- $330/night for a room with two queen beds
- $340-$350/night for rooms with water park views
- $476/night for a larger room with two queen beds and one sofa bed
- $933/night for an Ambassador Suite with two queen beds, a sofa bed, and pool/laser show views
There is a resort fee of $47 per night added on to every room (plus taxes). The resort fee is for the following amenities:
- Daily admission to River Falls Water Park for up to four guests
- Daily scheduled shuttle service to Disney Parks for up to four guests
- Enhanced in-room wireless internet for up to six devices
- Nightly scheduled shuttle service to Disney Springs for up to four guests
- Daily bag of range balls and rental clubs for use at the driving range based on availability
Note that check-in is at 4PM and check-out is at 11AM. The hotel and property are smoke-free, and pets are not allowed. Parking costs $32 per day, and valet is $50 per day. There are electric car charging stations available.
Amenities
River Falls Waterpark
The biggest perk is definitely the huge water park! This park has seven water slides…
…a lazy river that’s 575 feet long…
…and a 400,000-gallon lagoon pool.
There’s also a dedicated kid’s zone with fountains and other activities.
The park boasts “calming waterfalls, jumbo TVs, poolside activities, and perfectly heated water.”
Falls Pool Oasis
But there’s ANOTHER pool, too! The Falls Pool Oasis is a lagoon-style heated pool that has a zero entry area and sun shelves along the edges.
There are even more slides here, including a 90-foot speed slide and two 200-foot twisting slides.
Mermaids & Glo Party
One of the most unique perks of this hotel is its mermaid parties! These happen seasonally (check the hotel’s events page to find out when they will occur next). Mermaid Elle and her friends join guests for a swim and dance glow party. There’s special decor, bubble machines, and themed snacks and drinks.
We got a chance to meet Mermaid Elle when we visited!
Then, she spent some time with the guests in the pool.
The kids loved it!
Nightly Laser Light Show
Have you ever stayed at a hotel that has a LASER SHOW? Yeah, we hadn’t either. If you have a room with a Laser Show View, you can watch it from your balcony, or you can head down to the pool area to view it.
The show lasts for 10 minutes and features laser patterns set to music.
The Spa
There’s a full-service spa as well!
Treatments include massages, waxing, skincare, and manicures/pedicures.
Fitness Center
There’s a great fitness center at this hotel, too. It’s 4,000 sq feet and is stocked with 21 cardio machines, free weights, and other equipment.
There are also lockers, water, and towels provided for guests. If you don’t want to use a treadmill, you can head out to run or walk on the hotel’s 1.5-mile track.
Hawk’s Landing Golf Club
Golfers will love Hawk’s Landing Golf Club, which is an 18-hole course.
There’s also a driving range, pro shop, and instruction offered at the Orlando Golf Academy.
Shuttle Service
If you drove to the hotel, you can just hop in your car and head to Disney World whenever you like. However, if you flew in and did not rent a car (or you just don’t feel like driving), you can take advantage of the hotel’s shuttle service, which goes to all four Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs. This is included in your resort fee. You can reserve your transportation up to three days before your visit.
Here are some other amenities offered:
- Dry Cleaning Service
- Laundry
- Wake up Calls
- Daily Housekeeping
- Mobile Key
- Digital Check In
Food
There are eight restaurants at this hotel! Here’s a quick overview of each one:
- Mikado Japanese Steak House — The chefs here will prepare an authentic Japanese meal on a hibachi grill in front of you!
- Siro Urban Italian Kitchen — This is described as a “funky, creative restaurant” with “classic dishes served with a unique flair.”
- Latitude & Longitude — This restaurant boasts “simple Southern dining with a Florida flair”
- High Velocity — This is a sports bar that has “beers, burgers, wings, and more.” It’s a great place to catch the game while you’re on vacation.
- Falls Pool Bar & Grill — Grab a cocktail and some “simple savory bites” here while you’re hanging out at the pool!
- Lobby Bar — You can get cocktails, fresh sushi, and small plates at this location.
- Central Pantry — This is where you’ll find quick, to-go meals like sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and frozen yogurt.
- Starbucks
Room Tour
Alright, now let’s get to the room tour!
The room opens into a fairly narrow hallway with a closet on one side and the bathroom on the other.
The door has a regular lock…
…and an extra one on the frame as well.
Safety information is posted on the inside of the door.
Here’s a look at the entryway.
The closet on the right has a sliding door.
Inside, there’s a safe…
…a luggage rack…
…laundry bags…
…an iron, ironing board, and hangers.
The bathroom is divided into two parts by a sliding door: the vanity area and the water closet.
The vanity area has two sinks, a lighted mirror over the sinks, and a large full-body mirror.
Here’s another look at those sinks.
There are tissues on the counter…
…along with some lotion and hand soap.
There’s an outlet for hair appliances.
Underneath the sinks is some storage for towels.
The mirror is on the far wall.
Inside the water closet, there’s the toilet and a shower-tub combo.
Here’s the toilet…
…with some art hanging above it.
Let’s check out the shower!
There’s a fixed showerhead and also a handheld option.
There is also a tub — here’s a look at the fixtures.
The shower has a safety handle…
…a soap dish…
…shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner…
…and a towel rack.
There were extra towels and a bath mat on the side.
It’s a pretty good-sized tub!
Now let’s check out the main room!
We had a room with two queen-sized beds, a balcony, and a water park view.
The beds are on one side and there’s a desk-dresser combo on the other, along with a little sitting area.
Here’s another view.
The two beds have a nightstand between them, and there are reading lamps as well.
There is a solid frame under the beds so your things can’t get lost under there.
Each bed had four pillows on it.
Here’s another look at those reading lights.
The nightstand has an alarm clock…
…and a phone.
There’s some storage under the top shelf…
…and more inside the drawer.
Across the way, there’s a desk with a chair.
There was an itinerary of activities on our desk when we arrived, along with water park admission wristbands.
Here’s a closer look at the chair.
There was a small trash can and a small recycle bin.
The coffee machine is under the desk, too.
It’s equipped with coffee, creamer, sugars, and cups.
The dresser has three drawers and one cabinet that’s holding a mini fridge.
Here’s a look inside the drawers.
And here’s the mini fridge!
It’s small, but it can hold leftovers, snacks, or some drinks.
There’s a television above the dresser.
To the left, there was some water and an ice bucket.
The sitting area has an armchair…
…with a lamp above it.
You can draw the curtains over the balcony window…
…leave them partly open…
…or keep them all the way open to enjoy the view!
The balcony has two chairs and a small table on it.
We could see the water park and other rooms’ balconies.
It’s a HUGE resort!
Here’s our view at night.
The best part? We could see Disney World fireworks from our balcony!
So what do you think? Will you be booking a stay here soon?
