While riding Haunted Mansion Holiday, we discovered two jack-in-the-boxes with the likenesses of Krusty the Clown from “The Simpsons” and Jangles from “Inside Out.”
Haunted Mansion Holiday Easter Eggs
Despite ongoing construction of the attraction’s queue, Haunted Mansion Holiday reopened on July 29 with a virtual queue at Disneyland Park. The overlay features many familiar props, a new gingerbread house, and “Nightmare Before Christmas” references. While riding the attraction, we also noticed two new Easter eggs related to other Disney-owned IPs.
The two references appear right next to each other in the attic scene. In this area, there are two jack-in-the-boxes. One features a pumpkin, while the other features Jack Skellington making a face reminiscent of one he makes in the film. But it’s what is on the boxes that should grab the rider’s attention.
On Jack’s yellow jack-in-the-box, guests will find a likeness to Krusty the Clown from “The Simpsons.” The image features Krusty’s three iconic tufts of hair and huge smile. In this creepy image, Krusty’s eyes are red.
The second likeness is that of Jangles from “Inside Out.” He is found on the side of the orange jack-in-the-box, a huge smile on his face and two tifts of blue hair sticking out the sides of his head.
Jangles is a minor villain in “Inside Out,” appearing inside of Riley’s imagination.
