Earlier this month, rumors circulated that the Magic Happens parade at Disneyland Park may stop performances earlier than usual. Today, we noticed that performance times are no longer listed in late August.
Magic Happens Ending in Late August
While we had originally speculated that the final performance of the parade would take place on August 22, it looks like the last date will actually be August 24. On that date, the daily events schedule shows parade performance times of 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. On August 25, no performance times are listed. Disney has yet to confirm the final date of Magic Happens.
Every year, Magic Happens shuts down for a multiple-month hiatus. However, this normally doesn’t happen until later in the year. In 2023, the parade’s final performance was on October 15.
Rumors indicate that the parade is ending early due to cost-cutting measures being taken at Disneyland. Numerous live shows have either closed completely or had their performances reduced. This includes Club Pixar which was canceled in June, well before the end of Pixar Fest, and the closure of “Dr. Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” shortly thereafter. Multiple live shows are also limiting their number of performances each day or only performing on certain days of the week.
After the parade closes, a short cavalcade of characters is expected to perform daily before A Christmas Fantasy Parade returns on November 15.
