Kevin Feige Receiving Walk of Fame Star
Feige’s star will be the 2,785th on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in the category of Motion Pictures. It will be located at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony will be live-streamed on WalkOfFame.com at 11 a.m. PT on Thursday, July 25. It will be hosted by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Steve Nissen. “Deadpool & Wolverine” stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will be guest speakers.
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor Kevin Feige with a well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There are few, if any, filmmakers who have had the kind of impact and track record that Kevin has had,” said Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “The many films he has worked on have become a cultural phenomenon and a major part of the cinema world’s history.”
Kevin Feige is the overseer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which started with “Iron Man” in 2008. The film has since been inducted into the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress for its cultural significance.
Before starting the MCU, Feige produced the “X-Men” films, Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” films, “Daredevil” (2003), “Hulk” (2003), “The Punisher” (2004), “Elektra” (2005), “Fantastic Four” (2005), and more. His role with Marvel is so well-known that he was parodied in the MCU’s “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” as a story-controlling robot.
All 33 Marvel Studios films opened at number 1 at the box office. They have collectively grossed almost $30 billion globally. “The Avengers” was the first film in history to make $200 million domestically in its opening weekend. “Avengers: Endgame” was the fastest film in cinematic history to reach $2 billion and is the second highest-grossing film of all time. “Avengers: Infinity War” also reached $2 billion and is the sixth highest-grossing film. “Black Panther” was the first superhero film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Feige has been nominated for Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. He received the 2019 David O. Selznick Achievement Award from the Producers Guild of America and the Albert R. Broccoli Britannia Award for Worldwide Contribution to Entertainment from the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA).
“Deadpool & Wolverine” hits U.S. theaters on July 26. It will be followed in the MCU by “Captain America: Brave New World,” “Thunderbolts,” “The Fantastic Four,” and two more “Avengers” films.
“Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman will receive a posthumous star this year.
