Construction walls have come down from the “it’s a small world” popcorn cart in Disneyland, revealing a new pavement style. Meanwhile, construction walls have gone up at Fantasyland Theater.
“it’s a small world” Pavement
The new pavement cuts jarringly into the old. It’s a grid of squares with a rocky texture. The old sidewalk is made of bricks in various red and black shades.
There are persistent rumors that “it’s a small world” will soon get an extensive refurbishment. As part of the anticipated work, the sidewalks around the attraction will be updated. This could be our first look at the new pavement that will surround “it’s a small world.”
Fantasyland Theater Construction Walls
Although Fantasyland Theater is still home to Pixar Pals Playtime Party for a few more weeks, construction walls are up outside the theater. The walls block the entrance archway but there are paths open into the venue.
A blue banner at this corner points guests into the Fantasyland Theater and towards Troubadour Tavern. A green banner points to the restrooms.
Somewhat confusingly, a sign for Pixar Pals Playtime Party points in the opposite direction. Another sign asks guests not to park strollers in this area.
A sign at the opposite corner points to Mickey’s Toontown and lists its hours.
Around the corner is a pink banner pointing to Mickey’s Toontown Train Depot.
When the walls meet a planter, they’re replaced by green scrim.
The scrim runs through the planter into a line of trees at the back of the theater.
When walking towards the theater space, you’ll see more construction walls in front of another planter.
A purple banner points guests back to “it’s a small world” and Fantasyland.
Pixar Pals Playtime Party is part of Pixar Fest, which runs through August 4. Its Disney California Adventure counterpart, Club Pixar, ended entertainment two months early.
