NEWS: Disney’s Indiana Jones Ride To CLOSE for Refurbishment Soon
Planning an upcoming trip to Disneyland Resort? We don’t blame you.
Haunted Mansion Holiday just opened back up for the season and we can’t wait for Oogie Boogie Bash to begin! If you’re heading to Disneyland anytime in the near future, we need to warn you about this upcoming ride closure!
Heads up! The Indiana Jones Adventure ride will be closing for refurbishment soon!
We spotted the change on the Disneyland website, which shows the ride closed as of Monday, September 9th.
As far as a potential reopening date goes, we’re not so sure yet. The Disneyland website only shows 60 days out and it looks like Indiana Jones Adventure will be closed for the foreseeable future. Of course, we’ll be on the lookout for any news or updates from Disney about the ride’s potential reopening.
Indiana Jones Adventure certainly isn’t the only ride undergoing refurbishment at Disneyland right now! In Tomorrowland, Space Mountain will close on August 5th. If you are looking to catch a ride to space, you will need to visit before then!
Space Mountain does start to show operating hours once again on September 6th though, so if you’re heading to the park on or after that date, look for it to likely reopen!
Additionally, the Disneyland Railroad is set to temporarily close on August 12th. We’ll let you know when it’s scheduled to reopen!
In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest news from Disneyland, Disney World, and more!

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Now Requiring Wristbands to Enjoy Fuentes del Morro Pool
Guests hoping to enjoy Fuentes del Morro Pool, the main pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, will now have to show resort-given wristbands in order to gain access to the amenity.
Wristbands Now Required to Access Pool at Caribbean Beach
Resort guests are now required to show wristbands given to them by Cast Members in order to access the main pool.
Currently, the pool has only one entrance and exit available for guests. Signs have been placed outside of the gates to point guests in the right direction for entry.
The A-frame sign reads, “Bon Dia Islanders! Please utilize main entrance gate by Old Port Royale lobby,” with a red arrow pointing to the left.
A sign on the gate itself reads, “The Fuentes del Morro Pool is for the exclusive use of Caribbean Beach Resort Guests” and lists the day’s pool hours. At the time this photo was taken, the pool was open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
According to the Cast Members we spoke to at the resort, this is a test, with managers at other Disney resort hotels on property being updated on issues and successes related to the wristband system.
As far as how to obtain wristbands for pool access, we observed resort guests scanning their MagicBands at a lifeguard table; once it was proven that guests were staying at the resort, they were given wristbands that corresponded to the day of their visit. Lifeguard Cast Members stated that the color of the wristband changes day to day to prevent others from trying to sneak in.
It seems that this new system could continue at other resorts based on the pool’s popularity. Lifeguard Cast Members we spoke with said that keeping the pools to wristband-only guests has been good for crowd control, and closing the pool to only one entrance and exit is safer, in their opinion.
Fuentes del Morro pool and the adjacent spa pool at the resort were closed earlier this year for routine maintenance.
Have you stayed at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort recently and experienced this new pool rule for yourself? What do you think of limiting the resort pools to guests with wristbands only? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
