Cinderella Castle Stage Shows Canceled for 3 Weeks

“Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” and “Let the Magic Begin” will not be performed for the next three weeks, as a Cinderella Castle stage refurbishment takes place.

Two stage shows that take place in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom will not be performed due to a stage refurbishment that will take place over the next three weeks. Guests will not be able to view the full performances of “Let the Magic Begin” or “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” until they return on July 28.

This refurbishment is likely to get the stage ready for the holiday season, as both Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party each have shows that take place on the stage.

An empty stage area with a stone staircase and distant towers sets the scene for Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire, with a few scattered visitors in the background on a sunny day. Let the magic begin as performers get ready to dazzle!

We were able to get a look at the stage on our trip to Magic Kingdom today. The refurbishment has yet to begin, and there are no visible construction materials.

Painting Nears Completion on Prince Charming Regal Carrousel in Magic Kingdom

Images have been installed on the entablature and the painting of the friezes is nearly complete, as the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel refurbishment continues.

Painting is progressing nicely on the entablature at Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. In the photo above, the left angel has yet to have her dress painted. Based on how other angels in the entablature look, her dress should be painted blue before the completion of the refurbishment.

Even with some dresses unpainted, there has been significant work done since our last update. When we last provided a construction update, much of the entablature was beige, images were missing from their golden frames, and some sections were even covered by colorful tarps.

A colorful carousel with ornate decorations, including images of storybook characters and gold detailing. It is under a dark wooden roof, and people are standing nearby.

Images depicting scenes from Cinderella now fill every gold frame on the entablature. The photo of Prince Charming and Cinderella running across the red-carpeted stairs was completely missing just last month.

Additionally, the very top of the entablature has been painted blue and red in some parts. Gold touches have been added to the design right beneath this area. Red paint has been added to the area beneath the angels. The above photo depicts what the nearly finished entablature will look like. This nearly complete section lies to the left of an area that is missing large sections of paint.

A colorful, ornate carousel featuring painted panels and detailed decorations is seen under a dark ceiling. A person in a blue shirt is visible in the foreground.

The painting of Cinderella holding up her pink dress was also missing in our last update. The angels between that image and the one of Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella have been painted. In our last update, the left angel’s dress was beige, while the right angel was completely devoid of paint. The section between the angels has also been painted blue and pink.

Aside from the entablature, the refurbishment for the rest of the attraction seems complete. The floor has been completely installed and none of the horses were roped off on our recent visit. With all the progress made, it seems the refurbishment will reach its official completion soon.
