More lighting has been installed atop the various towers and buildings that frame scare zone locations in Universal Studios Florida.
Hollywood
In the Hollywood section, there are some new lights on top of the facades.
This trio of lights is fixed to the roof of the Hotel Beverly Wilshire facade.
A cord runs from the roof, near the lights, down to a nearby scaffolding tower. It then runs down the tower into its black base.
Another wire runs from The Darkroom’s rooftop through a tower.
There are more lights atop The Darkroom and Schwab’s Pharmacy facades.
Some of the lights in the area stand alone instead of being in groups of three.
Last year, this space held the Dark Zodiac scare zone.
Outside the NBC Media Center, the street is lined with scaffolding towers wrapped in green scaffolding. Many of these are now topped with lighting rigs.
Wires also run between these towers, hanging over guests.
This scare zone was Jungle of Doom: Expedition Horror last year.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley doesn’t usually house a scare zone, although Death Eaters do roam the land. Outside Diagon Alley, near the old Amity Island restrooms, we spotted one tower with lights on top.
Another tower with lights is around the corner. These are also near the former Fear Factor stage, which is expected to feature another “Nightmare Fuel” show during Halloween Horror Nights.
On the other side of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a small stage is outside King’s Cross. It has a black platform, about one foot tall.
A cube of scaffolding towers and supports is around the platform.
San Francisco
Further down the street, in the park’s San Francisco area, a large configuration of trusses we previously shared. A tower with lights is next to this structure.
Outside the exit of Fast & Furious: Supercharged is a tall tower of yellow scaffolding. The bottom two-thirds of the tower are wrapped in black tarps.
There are two more lighting towers outside Chez Alcatraz, which is still closed for refurbishment. Shipyard 32: Horrors Unhinged was the scare zone here in 2023.
The last sign of construction we noticed was a tower behind Ghiradelli, next to Supercharged. We first saw a Halloween Horror Nights tent here in early April.
Universal has announced two scare zones for Halloween Horror Nights 33: Torture Faire and Swamp of the Undead. Nine out of 10 houses have been announced: “Insidious: The Further,” “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” “A Quiet Place,” Triplets of Terror, Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America, Slaughter Sinema 2, Goblin’s Feast, Major Sweets Candy Factory, and The Museum: Deadly Exhibits.
