The tower lobby elevators in the queue for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood have had details restored to them from the attraction’s early years as the 30th anniversary approaches.
Tower of Terror Restored Details
Details depicting the aftermath of the lightning strike that struck the Hollywood Tower Hotel on October 31, 1939 have been restored from the original version of the queue and can now been seen once again on the service elevators in the hotel’s lobby.
Cracks and charring surround and cover the elevator doors. The damage caused by the paranormal storm that raged here long ago can still be seen and felt today.
Within the story of the attraction, five people entered the elevator on Halloween night 1939 and were struck by lightning, never to be seen again. That is until you, the hotel’s newest guests, return to the service elevators and encounter these paranormal beings as you cross over into “The Twilight Zone.”
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will celebrate its 30th anniversary on July 22, 2024.
A new Bellhop Stitch plush was just released earlier this week in the attraction’s gift shop, Tower Hotel Gifts.
