Splash Mountain Brings Back Extreme Mode With ‘Get Soaked MAX’

Splash Mountain “Get Soaked MAX” has debuted at Tokyo Disneyland and promises to soak guests throughout the hot summer months.

For the third year in a row, Splash Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland has received an overlay that promises to get guests extra wet on the attraction. While the overlay was called Splash Mountain “Get Wet MAX” the last two years, this new version is called Splash Mountain “Get Soaked MAX.” Guests can experience this temporary addition to the attraction from July 2 through September 18.

Sign at a theme park announcing a water ride where patrons will get completely soaked, with a note advising to secure electronics. Background includes trees and a rocky structure.

Multiple signs outside of the attraction warn guests that the wetter version is now operating. One of the more thorough signs outside of the entrance reads:

You will get completely soaked. Please take care that your smartphone or other electronic devices do not get wet.

Aside from guests getting wetter on the ride than usual, no other changes were announced for this overlay. Last year, Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear were featured in the on-ride photo. This photo overlay did not return this year.

In addition to Splash Mountain “Get Spoaked MAX”, Baymax’s Mission: Cool Down Parade is now performing three times per day to help guests stay cool during the hottest months of the year. This parade will be performed until September 18.
