Several reports are circulating the internet stating that Disney has fallen victim to a hacking incident, resulting in the compromise of 1.1TB of data.
The Walt Disney Company 1.1TB Data Breach
A hacktivist group called “Nullbulge” states that they have accessed Disney’s internal Slack platform and have obtained 1.1TB of data from the platform. While the contents of the data breach are unknown, the internal Slack platform is likely to hold a substantial amount of data, including unreleased projects, login credentials, concept art, and personal information.
As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the legitimacy of the breach, but a screenshot has been released displaying various files. The “Nullbulge” website has been inaccessible since the breach was announced, preventing any further downloads of the alleged data. Disney has not yet responded to inquiries regarding the reported breach.
If this incident is confirmed it would mark another significant breach among several high-profile companies in recent years. In late 2022, Rockstar Games experienced a similar breach that involved the leak of 90 videos related to GTA 6 via Slack. Similarly, in late 2023, Insomniac Games also suffered a significant breach that compromised over 1 million files. These files were released to the public after no buyer was willing to pay the hackers $2 million for the data.
We will continue to provide more information related to this incident as more details become available.
