Construction walls went up at the Canada Pavilion at the end of June, and now, a white tarp has been spotted at Hotel du Canada.
Hotel du Canada Construction
An eight-month-long Hotel du Canada refurbishment was just completed in February, and already, the building is getting more work done to it. Near the end of June, we reported that construction walls were back up around the fake hotel in the Canada Pavilion at EPCOT. Recently, we got our first look at the construction taking place behind those walls.
A white tarp now covers an exterior section that juts out from the rest of the building. It seems that the tarp is hiding a new addition to the space. Perhaps this could mean a new functional space, such as a shop, bar, or restaurant is coming to the Canada Pavilion. If that is indeed what is happening, then Hotel du Canada would open to guests for the first time since it housed La Boutique des Provinces, a shop that has been shuttered for years. At the moment, the fake hotel is used only by Cast Members.
Due to the brown walls that block off the area behind Trading Post, it was hard to get a closer look at the work being done to the building. However, the timing of this construction does have us speculating that something functional may be coming to Hotel du Canada. Because of how long the area was closed for refurbishment in 2023 and the beginning of this year, we think it would be a bit strange for a rarely used area to undergo more construction that doesn’t directly impact the guest experience.
What do you hope will be added to the Canada Pavilion when the Hotel du Canada construction finishes? Let us know in the comments.
