Are you ready to plan your vacation for…2033?!
Believe it or not, one travel giant is already focused that far into the future — and it’s all because they’ll be undergoing a major expansion over the next decade! If you’re not already a fan of cruises, we think this latest announcement from Carnival might just change your mind.
Get ready for NEW cruises from Carnival! According to the Orlando Business Journal, Carnival Cruise Line is introducing a new class of ships — to be delivered in 2029, 2031, and 2033.
“We are doubling down on the growth of Carnival Cruise Line – our highest-returning brand – to keep up with the incredibly strong demand we continue to see for the world’s most popular cruise line,” CEO of Carnival Corp., Josh Weinstein said. “We continue to take a disciplined approach to growth, strategically directing new capacity to the areas of highest demand at a rate of one to two new ships per year.”
This expansion will allow Carnival to increase overall capacity by around 1.5% annually from 2025 to 2033. The new class will weigh nearly 230,000 gross tons with over 3,000 guest rooms that can carry nearly 8,000 passengers. Further design details and itineraries will be announced in the future!
Once the ship order is fully delivered in 2033, Carnival will have 16 liquefied natural gas vessels, making up almost 30% of the global fleet. We can’t wait to see what Carnival has in store!
