Death Angels, Blood Splatter, Portals, and More Halloween Horror Nights 33 Theming at Universal Studios Florida

More props, set pieces, and themed elements arrive at Universal Studios Florida every day as crews continue preparing the park for Halloween Horror Nights 33.

Universal Music Plaza

Several people walk across the courtyard near an outdoor stage with a roller coaster track in the background. The area, featured in Halloween Horror Nights, showcases palm trees and decorative paving under a cloudy sky.

Crews are clearing the Universal Music Plaza of anything and everything, so it can instead house a winding switchback queue.

New York

A construction barrier with signs blocks access on a city street, flanked by classical and modern buildings under a clear blue sky, almost as if setting the stage for an eerie Halloween Horror Nights experience.

There are two sets of construction walls in the New York area of the park. These blue walls block the future exit of the HHN Tribute Store.

A beige temporary wall encloses an area beside a tall building, with an intricate stone facade adjacent. The ground is paved, marked with yellow painted lines and a wheelchair ramp nearby—it almost feels like a scene waiting for Halloween Horror Nights to unfold.

Behind the blue walls are a set of gray walls. This is across from the entrance to the “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” house.

Torture Faire Scare Zone

The centerpiece of the Torture Faire scare zone in the park’s New York area is a large stage.

A framed object covered with a burlap cloth sits on a platform with a gray brick-patterned backdrop, evoking eerie vibes akin to Halloween Horror Nights, near a street with green trees and buildings in the background.

There are now several pedals for actor activated triggers, including pedals leading under these burlap tarps.

Wooden sawhorses with decorative panels are set up on a street, alongside a manhole cover, a potted plant, and a staircase in an outdoor, urban setting—perfect for the eerie ambiance of Halloween Horror Nights.

Behind the stage is a set of three themed barricades.

A stage with a decorative red and yellow front, featuring a wooden barrel and a "Do Not Climb" sign in the center, evokes the eerie atmosphere of Halloween Horror Nights.

The stage and other platforms now have “Do Not Climb” signs on their fronts, warning guests to stay on the ground.

A small wooden and metal stage platform with black steps in front of a roller coaster and building facade under a blue sky.

Stairs have been installed behind the stage for scareactors. The chain hanging at the bottom of the stairs entrance is to dissuade guests from gaining access to the stage.

A themed carnival float with a tarp-covered structure stands on a street, evoking the eerie atmosphere of Halloween Horror Nights. Various props are positioned around the float, and a small number of people are seen walking in the background.

The first of several small platforms is The Breaking Wheel, outside of Revenge of the Mummy. Each stage features a red and brown-striped skirt. Many elements are covered with large tarps, but smaller props are visible.

A wooden crate partially covered by a brown tarp with blood-like liquid dripping from the crate onto the floor, as if straight out of a Halloween Horror Nights scene. Nearby, a wooden bucket containing a similar eerie liquid adds to the spine-chilling atmosphere.

Newly added to The Breaking Wheel is some bright red blood splatter on a wooden element just barely visible under the tarp. The blood appears to be dripping onto the platform below.

More ropes have been added to the wooden beams that hold up the display’s sign.

A large wooden sign reading "The Breaking News" hangs outside a building with a classical facade, featuring columns and a mix of white and pink exterior walls, reminiscent of Halloween Horror Nights' eerie yet captivating designs.

There are also some black birds atop the sign and other props.

Some of the fruits are old and moldy.

A rustic outdoor display featuring two wooden barrels, a wooden bucket, a red pumpkin, and two feathered arrows under red umbrellas captures the eerie charm of Halloween Horror Nights.

There are pumpkins and pineapples.

Further down the scare zone is “Ye Olde’ Torture Goods.” The booth is surrounded by blue and white-striped tarps. Next to the booth is a small platform with a sign reading “The Blood Eagle.” The wooden supports are wrapped in green and brown tarp. There is a series of small red posts connected by rope at the edge of the platform.

A wooden stage with a "Brazen Bull" sign displays a menacing metal bull sculpture, setting the tone for Halloween Horror Nights. Nearby are a green barrel labeled "Pickle" and a "Do Not Climb" sign, with buildings lining the background.

Across the street is The Brazen Bull. There are no tarps blocking the view of the main prop on this stage — a large metal bull figure.

Next to the platform is a bright green barrel labeled “Pickles.”

A metal bucket sits on a wooden deck next to a large, round, rusted metal cauldron and a piece of industrial machinery, creating an eerie setting reminiscent of Halloween Horror Nights.

Under the bull is a bowl full of (fake) hot coals and a bucket.

A weathered footswitch with a cable is placed on a wooden surface, possibly for controlling machinery or equipment, reminiscent of an eerie prop from Halloween Horror Nights.

On the platform is a pedal for scareactors to activate some kind of effect.

Wooden crates and a small barrel situated on a decorated wooden platform in a street setting, with a person sitting in the background near a storefront, add an eerie charm reminiscent of Halloween Horror Nights.

There are crates piled on one end of the platform.

Ghostbusters Food Booths

A street display featuring a storefront facade labeled "Ivan's NYC Deli & Grocery" with an arrow pointing left, perfect for Halloween Horror Nights. The setup includes potted trees and a sidewalk with red bricks, adding an eerie ambiance to the scene.

Near Torture Faire are two “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire”-inspired food booths. Earlier this week, the booths were decorated with Mini-Pufts, Slimer, and the Ghostbusters logo.

A street scene with a sign for "Ivan's NYC Deli & Grocery" with an arrow pointing left. A person in white clothing and a black cap is partially visible in the background, adding a subtle intrigue reminiscent of Halloween Horror Nights.

More Mini-Pufts are now on the Ivan’s cash wrap next to the booths.

Another Mini-Puft seems to be stuck to the sign.

A chef adjusts his uniform behind a table with potted plants on a brick sidewalk, flanked by two large potted trees, in front of storefronts decorated for Halloween Horror Nights.

There are tables between the cash registers and the booths. Potted plants block some areas from guests.

‘A Quiet Place’ Food Booth

A wooden shed with a window and a red dresser stands in a brick alleyway with stone-paved ground and fire escape stairs in the background.

Sting Alley in New York will feature “A Quiet Place”-inspired food booth. The silhouettes of Death Angels, the franchise’s monsters, now appear in two windows. One window is in a barn-like structure.

A wrapped machinery unit is placed in a wooden alcove with a decorative window panel behind it. The scene is set within an exterior brick and wooden structure.

Another Death Angel is in a window behind a drinks machine. The humanoid Death Angels walk on all fours thanks to long arms.

When we next visited the alley, the barn monster was silhouetted with red light. Two red lights atop the barn also created an eerie atmosphere.

A shadow of two howling wolf silhouettes is visible through a wooden wall with a red-lit window, setting the perfect eerie scene for Halloween Horror Nights.

At least during the lighting test, the second Death Angel was missing.

A red ticket booth with a small counter is situated between two brick buildings. A pink light glows from behind, casting an eerie hue perfect for Halloween Horror Nights. Posters are affixed to the brick wall on the right.

The painted posters on the brick walls of Sting Alley were also recently refreshed.

An alleyway between buildings with red wooden gates adorned with plants and a chalkboard sign at the entrance. The walkway, perfect for Halloween Horror Nights, leads to a red door flanked by potted plants on both sides.

More foliage adorns the entrance to the alley, which consists of two barn-like structures. There are also burlap bags and boxes around the entryway. The decorative paneling on the cash wrap is labeled “Lennox Steel.”

Duality of Fear Scare Zone

A large, camouflaged object covered with a tarp is situated on a city street, creating an eerie ambiance reminiscent of Halloween Horror Nights. The surrounding buildings boast vintage architecture, and palm trees line the street. A red and green line marks the edge of the pavement.

There are two mysterious themed elements in the park’s Hollywood area — likely home to the Duality of Fear scare zone.

A street display covered with a tarp, featuring a painted purple and blue scene resembling roots or vines, is set up on a city sidewalk lined with shops, evoking the eerie atmosphere of Halloween Horror Nights.

The platforms are blue and purple. They’re covered in vine-like tendrils and have large circular centerpieces.

A large, tarp-covered structure resembling a cosmic vortex with dark, twisted branches is set up on a city street for Halloween Horror Nights. Nearby, buildings line the street under a cloudy sky.

This centerpiece was covered by a gray tarp.

A large float depicting a swirling blue and purple portal with partially covered fabric stands on a street lined with themed buildings and posters, setting the perfect eerie scene for Halloween Horror Nights.

The second centerpiece, however, was more visible.

A large, circular portal painted with a swirling blue and purple design is partially covered by a silver tarp in an outdoor setting, reminiscent of the eerie entrances at Halloween Horror Nights. Buildings and a few curious onlookers can be seen in the background.

It looks like these circles are swirling portals. They’re painted with dark shades of blue and purple, with touches of white in the center.

There are now platforms in Battery Park, next to TV screens and light towers. This space is behind Transformers: The Ride 3D and will also house a food booth.

Across the street is the El Mercado Bar outside Cafe La Bamba. A themed cash wrap has been installed at the back of the bar.

An outdoor cafe with a brick and stucco facade featuring two open serving windows, topped with hanging baskets. The sunny weather reveals a few people in the background.

The bar was previously decorated with faux brick paneling, pig heads, and candles.

Swamp of the Undead Scare Zone

People walk down a paved path surrounded by trees and greenery on a sunny day. Some are pushing strollers, and others are carrying bags. A sign for Halloween Horror Nights and a structure are on the left side of the image.

Swamp of the Undead is in Central Park. It’s one of the more expansive scare zones. Scaffolding towers wrapped in green scrim line the space.

A street corner scene decorated with various nautical props, netting, and foliage, set against a backdrop of palm trees and buildings, transforms into an eerie spectacle for Halloween Horror Nights.

The “swamp” is full of half-sunken ships. We previously noted a body was visible under the camouflage tarp on this boat.

The bloody face and arm can now be clearly seen behind some crates.

A decorative outdoor scene for Halloween Horror Nights includes barrels, potted plants, a fishing net, and a "KEEP OUT" sign. The setting appears to be nautical or rustic, with various greenery and wooden elements.

There are elevated docks or piers, so guests will feel like they’re walking through the swampy waters.

A small tortoise crawls on a wooden table outdoors, next to a washboard. A lantern hangs from a tree, and a building is in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

We spotted a small turtle next to a Rub-Lite washboard from Ohio, the iconic Halloween Horror Nights state.

A weathered wooden treehouse on stilts with a partially broken window, surrounded by dense tropical foliage and a nearby building with a tiled roof, echoes the eerie atmosphere of Halloween Horror Nights.

The treehouse has more props, including a wind chime made of bones.

A pair of white shorts hangs on a clothesline near wooden panels and green plants, including a fern and a tall leafy vine, creating an oddly serene scene reminiscent of Halloween Horror Nights.

This appears to be a raft made of tree branches, rope, and tires.

Carey Drive-In

Outside Animal Actors on Location, a Carey Drive-In sign is visible on the back of the themed food booth. We previously shared a look at the drive-in theming inside.

An empty outdoor food kiosk named "Carey Drive-In," with a yellow brick facade and blank white menu screens, stands eerily silent, almost as if it were awaiting its turn to thrill visitors at Halloween Horror Nights.

Carey is another Ohio reference.

An empty outdoor concession stand with black trash bins, a red rolling rack, and a "closed" sign on a machine in the foreground, subtly echoing the eeriness of Halloween Horror Nights. The area is enclosed by a metal barrier.

There are now red stands and silverware dispensers at the large food booth.

Three vertical utensil dispensers for knives, forks, and spoons are attached to a countertop in a food service area, right by a yellow brick wall, all perfectly poised to serve the crowds during Halloween Horror Nights.

It looks like it’s pretty much ready to open.

Expo Circle Food Truck

A colorful food cart with plants and decorations is set up next to a blue trailer near a railroad train, evoking the festive spirit of Halloween Horror Nights. A character statue lurks ominously in the background.

There’s a new cash wrap accompanying a food truck in Expo Circle, in front of the “Back to the Future” train. The themed panels around the counter look like white and blue planks of wood.

A closed and covered food or drink stand at Universal Orlando Resort, featuring a pink and blue distressed wood design with red handprints, captures the eerie essence of Halloween Horror Nights. Background includes greenery and various themed park signs.

The panels are lined in pink, as is the empty menu sign. There are bloody handprints on the front of the counter.

Fanta Booths

A closed concession stand with a tented roof, featuring colorful "WANTA HAUNT?" and "FANTA" branding against a background of a bright sky with scattered clouds, adds an eerie touch reminiscent of Halloween Horror Nights.

There are multiple Fanta “Wanta Haunt?” locations in the park. This one is on the other side of Springfield, next to the bridge. All of these locations are decorated with dark paneling reading “Wanta Haunt?” in block lettering. The panels also feature vibrant-colored skulls and splotches of color for a graffiti style.

A festival booth with a tent and colorful "WANTA HAUNT?" banners is seen closed. The booth, nestled among lush greenery in an outdoor setting, seems to be awaiting updates for the upcoming HHN event.

The next Fanta booth is next to the Fear Factor stage, where “Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus” will be performed. These booths are white tents with faux brick columns.

A two-story waterfront building with a teal-tiled roof, red awnings, and various businesses reflecting in calm water, offers a picturesque backdrop perfect for Halloween Horror Nights.

Behind Richter’s Burger Co. are more counters with Fanta theming. This was the Peacock bar last year.

In front of this space is a small stage. The trusses over the stage are covered in black scrims. There are two trees framing the stage.

Goblin’s Feast Food Booth

A stone booth with two blank sign areas, surrounded by a carnival backdrop. A sign in front of the booth reads "Position Vacant" and "Auditions for Halloween Horror Nights." The eerie ambiance sets the stage for aspiring performers to showcase their spooky talents.

This stony food booth is inspired by the Goblin’s Feast house. During our Thursday trip, we noticed they were testing purple lights atop the towers and flickering orange lights in the lanterns.

A stone wall with a lantern and ivy is displayed against a cloudy sky, creating the perfect ambiance for Halloween Horror Nights. An arched window with a wooden frame looms above an empty rectangular sign, inviting eerie possibilities.

The fake stones are decorated with moss and foliage.

There are black metal barrels with blue-green staining throughout the zone.
