“The Simpsons” and “Inside Out” Easter eggs have been covered in the Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland.
Haunted Mansion Holiday Easter Eggs
Krusty the Clown from “The Simpsons” and Jangles from “Inside Out” appeared on the boxes of two jack-in-the-boxes. Jack Skellington’s face and his jack-o’-lantern mask pop out of the boxes.
Within the past few days, the boxes have been wrapped with Halloween-inspired wrapping paper, matching the gift boxes around the jack-in-the-boxes but covering the two Easter eggs. You can see them wrapped in Disney Hype Beast’s Instagram video embedded below.
Disney acquired “The Simpsons” in 2019 when they purchased 20th Century Fox. The series is available on Disney+ but isn’t represented in Disney Parks. This is in part because of Universal’s The Simpsons Ride and Springfield land, which opened at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood years before Disney acquired Fox. It’s possible Disney covered Krusty’s visage due to Universal’s licensing agreement and consequently covered the “Inside Out” clown for symmetry.
Haunted Mansion Holiday reopened on July 29 with a virtual queue due to the ongoing construction of the attraction’s queue. The seasonal “The Nightmare Before Christmas” overlay features a new gingerbread house.
