Walt Disney Imagineering recently filed a new construction permit that could mean they are reviving the Reflections – A Lakeside Disney Lodge project.
Wilderness Way Construction Permit
The permit is for “Site and facility improvements” at several addresses along Wilderness Way near the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This may mean Disney is planning to add more cabins or other facilities, but there are also clear connections to Reflections.
Wilderness Way was to be used as the entrance of Reflections. The permit contracts Balfour Beatty, a company that was previously listed on a similar permit for Reflections in 2019. The new permit is valid through March 31, 2027.
Disney announced Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge in 2018 following rumors of a new nature-inspired resort. The long-shuttered River Country was demolished in 2019 to make way for the new Disney Vacation Club resort. COVID-19 shutdowns in 2020 and a 2021 permit for trailer removal supported rumors that the resort was canceled.
However, in 2023, Disney filed a five-year extension on a permit for the project’s staging ground. In May 2024, another construction permit extension was filed. It’s possible Disney will announce they are resuming work on Reflections, or a different resort in the same area, at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this weekend.
