Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull at Tokyo DisneySea will close for a year beginning in 2025.
Indiana Jones Adventure Closure
Tokyo Disneyland has updated their temporary closures list to state Indiana Jones Adventure will be closed from March 5, 2025, through March 4, 2026.
The closure may be for an extensive refurbishment of the attraction, which opened with the park in 2001.
Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull is a similar ride experience to the Disneyland attraction, Temple of the Forbidden Eye, which opened six years earlier and is set in India. However, the Tokyo version features a different story about an Aztec temple guarded by a crystal skull. It’s unrelated to the fourth Indiana Jones film, “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (2008). The ride is located in the park’s Lost River Delta port themed to a 1930s Central America archeological site.
DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is set to become a third version of the ride as part of the Pueblo Esperanza land replacing DinoLand U.S.A. This version will have a new story set in a Mayan Temple and featuring a mythical creature, connecting it to the park’s theme. DINOSAUR utilizes almost the exact same ride track as Indiana Jones Adventure so the “new” Indy ride is expected to still be similar to the original. It will open in 2027.
