We recently ventured out to Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort to check out the progress on its latest refurbishment, which has proved to be quite the undertaking. A few weeks back, we told you about a planned refurbishment happening at the hotel’s quick-service restaurant, World Premiere Food Court.

This refurbishment resulted in most of the kitchen and food stations being walled off to diners, though most of the seating in the dining room remained open, along with self-service beverage stations and utensils.

To place an order at the restaurant, you would need to utilize the mobile order feature in the My Disney Experience app. When your order is ready for pick up, it will be brought out to the tables, and a Cast Member will confirm your order as they hand over your bag. This refurbishment was originally anticipated to last through August 1st; however, we’ve confirmed an important update!

When browsing the Disney World website, we noticed that the verbiage for the closure had been updated to “From July 1st through mid-August, some areas of the World Premiere Food Court will be closed for refurbishment—including the coffee bar and lounge.” So, of course, we set out to investigate! Sure enough, when we arrived, there was still lots of construction, and we even noticed more seating had been made available inside the nearby Reel Fun Arcade.

When we stopped to ask Cast Members working at the restaurant, they confirmed with us that the refurbishment is taking longer than anticipated and that it’s likely we could see the refurbishment extended through fall or even the end of the year.

This certainly is an unexpected change, but sometimes, these updates do take longer than originally planned. The Cast Members also pointed out that since the menu is limited at All-Star Movies during the refurbishment. If you really want something else that’s typically on the menu, you’re a short walk away from the other two All-Star Resorts (Sports and Music), where each of their quick-service restaurants operates on a full menu.

We’re constantly monitoring the changes, updates, and news in Disney World’s theme parks and hotels, so be sure to stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for the latest.
