Steakhouse and BBQ Restaurants from Michelin-Starred Chef Joe Isidori

We have more juicy details on two new restaurant concepts – a steakhouse and a barbecue eatery – that are in the works for Downtown Disney District from Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori

The full-service steakhouse will have a warm and sophisticated ambiance with a menu highlighting prime cuts of beef, chops, fresh seafood, sandwiches and chopped salads. Bourbon connoisseurs and mixology enthusiasts may enjoy an inventive selection of expertly crafted cocktails.

The adjacent barbecue spot will take a culinary approach to quick-service, offering traditional BBQ dishes such as pulled pork, beef brisket and smoked wings that incorporate unique spices and house-made sauces. A prominent outdoor bar will feature a wide selection of craft beers and a medley of moonshine cocktails.

Chef Isidori’s most recent culinary successes include Arthur & Sons, with locations in New York and the Hamptons, and JOTORO Kitchen & Tequila Bar in Tampa, Fla.

As we previously mentioned, these two eateries will be located on the footprint of the former Tortilla Jo’s. Stay tuned for more mouthwatering details!

Earl of Sandwich Announces New Restaurant Concept – The Carnaby Tavern

Earl of Sandwich fans, we have news for you! As we previously shared, an all-new Earl of Sandwich is being developed in Downtown Disney District. In addition to a light and airy Earl of Sandwich planned for the ground level, the second floor will be home to an all-new table service concept, The Carnaby Tavern

Concept art of the interior of The Carnaby Tavern in Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort

The Carnaby Tavern is being designed as an homage to the swinging ‘60s “British Invasion” pop and rock bands from the U.K. The restaurant will feature a patio with an indoor/outdoor full-service bar. We look forward to sharing more details in the future!

As we look forward to this all-new Earl of Sandwich offering, the Earl’s location on the east side of the district will close in 2025, so construction may begin on Porto’s Bakery.

For now, you can satisfy your cravings at the Earl of Sandwich and Earl of Sandwich Tavern at the east side location or at the new pop-up pod near Star Wars Trading Post on the west end of the district. Both serve all of your favorites including hot sandwiches, wraps, salads and sweets.

While we’re gearing up for these fantastic projects on the horizon, there’s still so much for you to do, see, explore and enjoy right now throughout Downtown Disney District. No two visits are ever the same, so we look forward to welcoming you, your family and friends back often for even more fun!

Triplets of Terror — Not for the Queasy or Faint of Heart at Halloween Horror Nights 33

It’s the Barmy triplets’ party, and they’ll make us cry if they want to. Join the Barmys in the Triplets of Terror haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights 33 in Universal Studios Florida.

House

You’re invited to the Barmy triplets’ birthday celebration. But their kind of party involves recreating the murders of their entire family.

Promotional poster for Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights featuring "Triplets of Terror" with three masked and costumed characters against a backdrop of balloons. Event dates: Aug 30 - Nov 3.

Backstory

A cluttered outdoor area with a small house, garbage cans, boxes, a rug, and various scattered items.

Guests enter the Barmy household in Toledo, Ohio — street number 3324 — during the birthday party of Melody, Harmony, and Junior. The Barmys are hoarders, so the facade is full of props and Easter eggs. Guests come across the triplets and the dead bodies of their parents, who the trio murdered. As guests continue through the house, they follow the triplets on a murder spree across the country as they collect items to recreate their birthday party.

Review of Triplets of Terror

A table set for a party with stuffed mannequins, some headless or bloodied, and food items like popcorn, cakes, and plates of food. The scene has a horror-themed decor.

Before going any further, we’ll reiterate what we said in our Behind the Screams review: this house is very gross, and the dog does die. If you remember the bisected puppy from Depths of Fear in 2019, that prop is reused.

A table set for a macabre celebration features a decayed figure in a party hat beside cakes with lit candles, another smaller figure appears in the foreground, also with a party hat.

Triplets was not as good as it was in Unmasking. This is not to say that the actors are the problem — it’s just that the story is weaker without knowing the details beforehand. It comes off a little disjointed. It also suffers from repetition as most of the Scareactors are the three siblings. They change (and age) as the house goes, but it’s still the same three “faces” over and over.

Also, when we saw it with the lights on, we thought it was the goriest house — and that was before Blood Day. Holy moly. It’s very, very bloody. And you WILL get sprayed in the face with water.

Overall, this house suffers from some storytelling issues in the middle, and it certainly isn’t for the faint of heart.

Rating out of 7: 4
