New Scenes Unveiled for the 30th Anniversary of Storybook Land Canal Boats in Disneyland Paris

Images of the newly added scenes aboard Le Pays des Contes de Fées, the Storybook Land Canal Boats, have been shared just days before the attraction reopens this Friday at Disneyland Paris.

New Scenes for Storybook Land Canal Boats

Illustration of a whimsical landscape with castles, a hot air balloon, and a boat. The text reads "Le Pays des Contes de Fées," the Storybook Land Canal Boats, and "Fantasyland." The bottom label says "Présenté par Vittel" in celebration of Disneyland Paris' 30th Anniversary.

Natacha Rafalski, president of Disneyland Paris, posted the images of the new scenes to her official Instagram account.

There are three new scenes inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios films “Frozen” and “Winnie the Pooh,” and Pixar Animation Studios’ “Up.” The “Frozen” and “Winnie the Pooh” scenes were announced with concept art last October, and “Up” was announced this past May.

Just last month, we reported the return of the giant storybook with a new design to the Storybook Land Canal Boats. This refurbishment is thanks, in part, to the attraction’s presenting sponsor, Vittel.

‘Winnie the Pooh’ Scene

A rocky landscape features a small wooden bridge, a twisted tree with a sculpted trunk, and lush greenery under a clear blue sky, reminiscent of the enchanting charm celebrated during Disneyland Paris' 30th Anniversary at Storybook Land Canal Boats.

Truly, the concept art proves reality in these updates. In the photo above, you can see the tiny bridge that leads to Winnie the Pooh’s home. The treehouse looks as though it was pulled right from the pages of a storybook as it sits nestled beneath Rapunzel’s tower.

If you look close enough, you can even see Pooh and Tigger playing just in front of the miniature treehouse. Pooh is lying on his back as Tigger, in his iconic way, bounces on Pooh’s tummy.

‘Frozen’ Scene

A miniature winter scene celebrating Disneyland Paris' 30th Anniversary, featuring snow-covered trees, mountains, and small wooden cabins under a clear blue sky.

The “Frozen” scene depicts a winter wonderland. This scene is reminiscent of the first “Frozen” film when Elsa ices over all of Arendelle. The building on the far left appears to be Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post with a small shed next door. Elsa’s ice castle sits atop the mountain on the far right.

At the bottom right, you can barely see Elsa and Anna in the sled while Kristoff stands beside Sven, the reindeer.

Disneyland Paris will also be opening a new “Frozen” land as part of a major expansion to Walt Disney Studios Park, which will also be renamed to Disney Adventure World.

‘Up’ Scene

A miniature house with colorful balloons, resembling the one from "Up," sits atop a rock formation surrounded by trees and greenery near a body of water in Disneyland Paris. Celebrate the park's 30th Anniversary by exploring magical spots like Le Pays des Contes de Fées.

The final new image shared is that of the “Up” sequence added to the attraction. A small storybook can be seen with “La Haut” on the left (“Up” in French) in blue sans serif font, and an illustration of Dug on the right.

The “Up” house is seen precariously floating, or perhaps resting, atop the miniature rocks on the journey to Paradise Falls. There are small figures of Carl and Russel holding onto the blue hose just like in the movie.

Which of these scenes brought you the most joy? Will you be traveling to Disneyland Paris to see these additions?

NEWS: National Hurricane Center Monitoring 2 Potential Storms in Atlantic

It’s been less than a month since Hurricane Debby turned Tropical Storm Debby hit Florida.

Tropical Storm Debby at Magic Kingdom

The worst of the storm mostly hit Northern Florida while its bands swept across Disney World and Orlando causing lots of rain and storms. The parks never closed, but many flights were delayed and canceled at the Orlando International Airport. The National Hurricane Center continuously monitors the tropical areas for developing storms and hurricanes as Florida continues to be in hurricane season. Now, the NHC has been following two tropical disturbances in the Atlantic for possible development — here’s what you need to know.

Over the past couple of days, the National Hurricane Center has marked two areas of tropical disturbances in the Atlantic that have the potential to develop into tropical storms or hurricanes.

©NHC

According to the NHC, the area of low pressure in the Western Atlantic has a low chance of formation within the next 48 hours and 7 days, roughly a 10% chance of formation. The disturbance in the Central Tropical Atlantic is also an area of low pressure with a 0% chance of formation in the next 48 hours and a low 20% chance of formation through the next 7 days.

©Fox35

These are low chances, making it less likely for tropical storms to develop, but it is something to be aware of and monitor if you live in the Florida area or plan to be at Disney World in the coming week. It may get rainy and wet while you’re in the parks.

Tropical Storm Debby at Animal Kingdom

Rain happens all the time in Florida and hurricane season continues into November for the area. If you’re planning a trip to Disney World this fall, we suggest packing rain gear regardless of these possible developments. Keep an eye on the weather forecast leading up to your trip so you ensure you’re prepared!

We Know When Lightning Lane Prices Will SKYROCKET in Disney World

Disney World’s Lightning Lane system has changed. Genie+ is no more and now we’re left with Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass, which you can purchase all at the same time and days ahead of your trip.

Goodbye Genie+

Like Genie+, though, Multi Pass is still a paid-for service, and it still uses surge pricing where the pricing fluctuates daily. So on days Disney anticipates the parks will be busier, they raise the price of Multi Pass and Single Passes, and on slow days they drop. Based on the pricing for Genie+ in 2023, and looking at current Lightning Lane trends, we have some pretty good ideas about when we’ll see the 2024 prices for Multi Pass and Single Passes SKYROCKET.

One significant difference between Genie+ and Lightning Lane Multi Pass is that Genie+ used to have a Multiple Parks option that was the same price as the highest-priced park, which was always Magic Kingdom. You could only choose Lightning Lanes in multiple parks if you purchased this option. Now, with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you purchase it for the park you plan to start in and then you can still park hop and grab Lightning Lanes for any other park without paying an additional cost.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass pamphlet

When we took a look at the prices for Genie+ in 2023, we noticed there were a few dates when the prices went extremely high compared to the other days of the year. These were times when we saw prices from $29 for the Multiple Parks and Magic Kingdom option all the way up to $39! If we look at the Multiple Parks option, Magic Kingdom had the same price while the other parks were lower, but they all still increased to the highest they had been all year.

Genie+

Based on that information and data, we expect that Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year will have very high prices for Lighting Lane Multi Pass. Last year, Genie+ was around $27 for most of November. It increased to $35 on November 20th, 21st, 23rd, and 24th. November 23rd was Thanksgiving. This year, Thanksgiving is November 28th, and it’s probably likely that we’ll see Multi Pass increase in pricing starting November 25th.

Prices during Thanksgiving week 2023 ©Disney

If we look at Christmas, last year, Genie+ for Magic Kingdom was $29 on December 18th which was the first day of the skyrocketing prices. From there they just continued to get higher. On December 21st, Magic Kingdom was $29, while it was $35 on December 22nd. Then from December 23rd through December 31st, Magic Kingdom was $39! On New Year’s Day 2024, it was $35.

Genie+ prices hit a record high on Dec. 23, 2023, and stayed there. ©Disney

That means this year, we can likely expect Multi Pass to start climbing in price around one week before Christmas and likely hit its highest price just a few days before Christmas. If you’re headed to Disney World around any of these major holidays, be prepared for higher crowds, higher wait times for rides and restaurants, and higher prices for Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

Magic Kingdom at Christmas 2023

Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass are more simplified now, but there is still a lot to know! For a full rundown of the system and process, check out our guide at the link below!
