To celebrate Halloween, Disneyland Resort is releasing a new set of Disney Villains trading cards exclusively available to Magic Key holders. The first trading card featuring the Evil Queen from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was released today, August 26.

Evil Queen Trading Card

In mid-August, the Disneyland Magic Key official Instagram account announced that a new set of four exclusive Disney Villains trading cards would be available in August and September at Disneyland Resort. Today, the Evil Queen trading card was the first of the set to be released.

The Evil Queen appears inside of a window staring at a golden chalice that spews green mist. The top of the window says “1937,” the year “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was released. Her name and the film title appear on a yellow border at the bottom of the card.

But the Evil Queen doesn’t appear in just one form on this trading card. She also appears as the Witch, the form she takes when she convinces Snow White to eat the poison apple. She holds the deadly green fruit in her left hand.

The images appear on the same side of the trading card thanks to lenticular printing. Lenticular images appear differently depending on the angle you look at them. As you can see in the photo above, part of the Evil Queen’s crown sticks up behind the Witch.

The back of the trading card features fun facts about the Evil Queen. They are as follows:

Henchman: The Huntsman

Infamous Quote: “Magic Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?”

Nefarious Fact: She was the first character to speak in a Disney feature-length animated movie.

The trading card is available at Disenyana in Disneyland Park and Kingswell Shop in Disney California Adventure Park today through August 29, 2024. The item is limited to one per week, per Magic Key holder. Ticket and park reservations are required to purchase the item.

The other three villains in the set have yet to be revealed, but the teaser video shared on social media hinted that Jafar and Yzma would be included.

A new trading card will be released every week until September 19. Each trading card will only be available Monday through Thursday of the week they are released.

In 2023, Disneyland released exclusive Magic Key Haunted Mansion trading cards for the Halloween season. The four cards depicted iconic characters from the attraction on one side and the Cast Members who brought them to life on the other.

The excitement for Epic Universe is real and we are constantly on the lookout for any updates or announcements about this upcoming theme park.

Universal has released information leading up to the opening of Epic Universe, from its featured lands to new hotels, and even a behind-the-scenes look at construction. But we came across another update that shows that Universal is putting in the work for its opening in the near future.

Although no date has been set for the opening of Universal’s Epic Universe, it is slated to debut sometime in 2025. Three hotels are being created as well, with Universal Stella Nova Resort opening on January 21, 2025, and Universal Terra Luna Resort on February 25, 2025.

Universal has also released details of each of its lands such as  SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, Celestial Park, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic.

And now, @bioreconstruct on X/Twitter has released new aerial views of Epic Universe, giving us a look at all the progress in the construction!

One of the pictures features an aerial overview of Epic Universe from 1700 ft, detailing some of the updates and changes added to the upcoming theme park like a red/yellow canopy inside of Viking Training Camp at The Isle of Berk, seen at the top right.

A closer image of the land shows that more theming has been added as well as gives us a look at its portal entrance.

At The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, we can clearly see the streets of Paris as well as an inner courtyard. A statue is to be featured in the far right of the image but it appears to be covered up for the time being.

These sets of images also include a view of the Epic Universe entrance areas.

These images clearly show that Universal is going full steam ahead in getting Epic Universe ready for its potential opening day in 2025. We can’t wait for more to be revealed!

Big changes are coming to California Adventure. 

There were many major announcements made at the 2024 D23 Ultimate Fan event regarding Disney’s theme parks, including the confirmation that the Avengers E-Ticket attraction is finally coming to California Adventure. The new ride, dubbed Avengers Infinity Defense, will anchor an expansion to Avengers Campus that will also feature the Stark Flight Lab attraction, which will feature Robert Downey Jr. returning as Iron Man. However, this new construction may lead to the end of an old favorite. 

We can confirm that the construction of the Avengers attractions will lead to changes in several backstage areas of California Adventure, including the Red Car Trolley Barn, which is why the attraction will be discontinued at an as-yet-unannounced date in early 2025. 

The Red Car Trolley, based on the real trolley system that formerly served Los Angeles before itself being controversially removed in the mid-20th century, was built at California Adventure as part of the massive refurbishment Disney built at the park in the late 2000s/early 2010s. 

Opening in 2012, the ride became a favorite of California Adventure fans thanks to its unique theming a placemaking. The ride, which according to Disney offers a “charming vintage trolley for a scenic ride through Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Land”, features stops at Buena Vista Street, Carthay Circle, Hollywood Boulevard, and Sunset Boulevard. 

There is the possibility that the Red Car Trolley could return once the new attractions are ready with new backstage infrastructure, similar to the way the Walt Disney World Railroad had been closed during the construction of TRON Lightcycle/Run, though that possibility seems remote. We’ll have to wait and see, but more information is expected to be released this winter.

The post Disney Just Dropped A New LEGO Star Wars Set Online! first appeared on the disney food blog.

Disney dropped some HUGE park news at the beginning of August at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event and a lot of it was about new rides, new lands, and new expansions.

For example, Villains Land and Cars rides were announced for Magic Kingdom in Disney World, as well as a new Monsters, Inc. land in Hollywood Studios. Disney also announced new Avatar and Marvel attractions coming to Disney California Adventure. However, Disney did NOT tell us when the new California Adventure attractions would be getting added to the park. But now, we know construction on the new Avengers Campus attractions will be starting sooner rather than later!

During the D23 event in Anaheim, CA, Deadpool showed up to join Josh D’Amaro, Disney Experiences Chairman, on stage with several Marvel announcements. One of those was that Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure will be doubling in size and adding TWO new attractions to the Marvel-themed area.

When Deadpool and D’Amaro made this announcement, they did not share WHEN these new attractions would be coming to the Avengers Campus nor even when construction would begin on them. But now we know construction will begin in early 2025! It was previously announced that we’d see work in 2025, but now we can expect it in the early months of next year.

When work begins, the backstage Red Car Trolley barn will need to be removed causing Disney to discontinue operation of the trolley attraction in early 2025. There was no word on if the trolley will come back after construction is complete. A specific date for the closure will be shared later this winter.

When the new attractions are completed, we’ll be able to ride Avengers Infinity Defense to try to stop Thanos from wreaking havoc among worlds as well as Stark Flight Lab where you can learn to fly like Tony Stark (a.k.a. Iron Man)! It will be an exciting expansion to the Avengers Campus and the world of Marvel at Disney California Adventure.

We can’t wait to learn more about the upcoming lands, expansions, and attractions headed to the Disney parks! In the meantime, keep following DFB for all your Disney news!
