Eat the Ghost of Anaheim (Burger) and More at Galactic Grill for Halloween

As invited media, Disney provided WDWNT with a gift card for food and beverages, so some of the following coverage was hosted. As always, WDWNT will still provide our honest thoughts on all below.

Galactic Grill has resurrected a long-time favorite dessert, plus three new items for Halloween Time 2024 at Disneyland.

People are standing in line at the Galactic Grill, an outdoor counter-service restaurant. The menu boards are illuminated as the sky darkens, creating a perfect evening dining atmosphere.

Galactic Grill is in Tomorrowland, across from Star Wars Launch Bay.

Halloween Menu at Galactic Grill

Food:

  • 🆕 “Ghost” of Anaheim Burger – $16.49
  • Darth by Chocolate – $7.29

Beverages:

  • 🆕 Pumpkin Pie Chai Tea – $6.99
  • 🆕 Acai Blueberry Smoothie – $14.19
A tray with French fries and a grilled sandwich, alongside two drinks: one with whipped cream and a small pumpkin decoration and another with foam on top. The background features a galactic-themed tabletop and chairs.

*NEW* “Ghost” of Anaheim Burger – $16.49

Angus Beef & Vegetable Patty, Ghost Pepper Salsa Verde Sauce, Pepper Jack, Green Chile Pico de Gallo, Cilantro-Lime Cabbage Slaw and Crispy Onions on a Toasted Brioche Bun, served with a choice of Cuties Mandarin Oranges or French Fries

A delicious sandwich with mixed vegetables and meat in a paper tray, served next to French fries on a blue speckled tabletop at the Galactic Grill.

There’s a lot going on with this burger, just starting with the patty itself. The consistency is similar to meatloaf, as it blends Angus beef and vegetable patty. The other flavors are pretty wild and it’s hard to keep up with exactly what you’re tasting. In general, if you love a complex flavor profile, you’re going to love this.

Darth by Chocolate – $7.29

Layers of Chocolate Pudding, Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Mousse and Crushed Chocolate Crème-filled Cookies

DL Darth Vader Parfait 03

Guess who’s back, back again?

The Darth by Chocolate Parfait returns to Galactic Grill! And there’s a good reason it always returns. It’s that good. “Death” (or Darth) by Chocolate is pretty accurate. It’s very rich. The red velvet cake is complemented by the mousse. This will disappear pretty quickly, especially if you’re sharing.

*NEW* Pumpkin Pie Chai Tea – $6.99

Iced Chai Tea topped with a Pumpkin Pie Cream

A plastic cup filled with a dark iced beverage topped with fluffy foam, placed on a blue-speckled tabletop at the Galactic Grill.

This isn’t the first time today that we’ve had to penetrate a thick layer of pumpkin foam to get to a drink underneath. The foam is substantial and has nutmeg sprinkled on top of it to really remind you of fall. The chai is reasonably good and the flavors play OK together.

Rating out of 7: 5

*NEW* Acai Blueberry Smoothie – $7.99 ($14.19 with Glow Cube)

with Açai, Blueberries, Banana and Orange topped with Whipped Cream and Matcha Powder

A chocolate dessert topped with whipped cream and a small orange pumpkin decoration served in a plastic cup at Galactic Grill, perfect for your next dining experience on a grey table.

It gets better as you go, but it wasn’t remarkable. Refreshing, but not noteworthy. Overall, we were left sort of viscerally satisfied but nothing had us wanting more.

Jungle Cruise Closed for Two Month Refurbishment at Walt Disney World

The world-famous Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom has closed for a nearly two-month-long refurbishment.

Jungle Cruise Refurbishment

Three alligators resting on a rock beside a water body in a forested area, with one alligator having its mouth open.

Today, August 26, Jungle Cruise closed for a nearly two-month-long refurbishment at Magic Kingdom. The start date for this refurbishment has been known for over a month and a half, and Disney previously stated that the attraction would reopen to guests before the winter holidays. In early August, the Walt Disney World park calendar showed that the attraction would reopen on October 18.

Screenshot of a Disney World schedule for October 10, 2014, showing park hours, event times, and refurbishment notices, including the closure of 'La Princesa de Cristal - Caribbean Plaza' and details about the Jungle Cruise operating hours.

All days between today and October 17 have Jungle Cruise listed alongside La Princesa de Cristal – Caribbean Plaza as temporarily unavailable. The photo above shows that only the Adventureland shop will be unavailable at Magic Kingdom on Friday, October 18.

Disney hasn’t released any specific details about what this refurbishment could consist of. However, a permit was filed with Underwater Engineering Services Inc. in April of this year for “general construction.” The permit has an expiration date of October 2025. Generally, permits are filed for one year, so the fact that this permit was filed for longer could mean that extensive work will be done to the attraction.

Jungle Cruise has received numerous updates over the past few years. Earlier this year, the queue received an extensive dock refurbishment. In 2021, new scenes were added to remove culturally insensitive elements.

Will the Jungle Cruise closure affect your upcoming visit? Let us know in the comments.
