Full Video of the 2024 Frightfully Fun Parade at Oogie Boogie Bash

The Frightfully Fun Parade has returned to Disney California Adventure for the 2024 Oogie Boogie Bash.

Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed event during the Halloween season. It takes place on select nights from August 25 – October 31, and this year’s event is fully sold out.

The Headless Horseman Rides Again

Much like Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom, the Frightfully Fun Parade kicks off with a visit from the Headless Horseman.

Parade with performers in period costumes walks through a theme park at dusk, with spectators seated on both sides of the pathway lined with palm trees and colorful lights, evoking the spirit of the 2024 Frightfully Fun Parade.

Villagers dressed like those in “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” from where the Headless Horseman (or at least this iteration) heralds, came to warn of the approaching phantom rider.

A person dressed as the Headless Horseman rides a horse through the 2024 Frightfully Fun Parade during the Oogie Boogie Bash evening event, surrounded by delighted spectators.

The horseman sits atop his steed, as headless as his name implies, and carrying his Jack-o-lantern substitute skull in one hand.

A person in a brown cloak with a pumpkin head rides a black horse during the 2024 Frightfully Fun Parade at an amusement park's Oogie Boogie Bash, with brightly lit attractions and a crowd in the background.

His horse is as black as the night, and the rider is clad in his traditional jacket and purple cape.

Mickey, Minnie, and the Marquee Float

Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse dressed in red, perform a frightfully fun parade at night with illuminated trees and buildings, while a crowd watches from the sides.

Mickey, Minnie, and a group of dancers kick off the parade ahead of the marquee float.

It isn’t far behind them, though. It features the parade logo in front of a spiderweb background and framed with ornate orange designs. There are Mickey and Minnie pumpkins on the corners, plus creepy critters.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Nightmare Before Christmas unit follows, led by the mayor in his car. And yes, his face turns to express his mood.

A group of performers in dark costumes with long, black cloaks and illuminated trim entertain a nighttime crowd near a brightly lit building with arched windows, making it feel like a frightfully fun parade.

He’s followed by the vampires, complete with glowing eyes.

The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion themed section of the parade begins with the ghostly ballroom dancers, who whirl and twirl down the streets of Disney California Adventure.

A nighttime scene at a theme park with two statuesque figures in front of a building, illuminated by blue and green lights, surrounded by colorful decorations and lamps. The atmosphere hints at the excitement of a frightfully fun parade just around the corner.

The float is two-sided and designed to look like a miniature Mansion. In front are the Hitchhiking Ghosts.

A group of performers, dressed in old-fashioned clothes, engage in a choreographed street performance at night under colorful lighting. It feels like a frightfully fun parade as a small crowd watches in the background near illuminated structures.

On the back of the float stands Constance, the Bride. Her heart beat glows red as the Gravediggers perform their iconic dance, sending sparks flying with their shovels.

Villains

The last section of the parade is devoted to Disney Villains. First up is Dr. Facilier from “The Princess and the Frog,” along with his Friends From the Other Side.

A performer in an octopus-themed costume walks along a frightfully fun parade route at night, surrounded by brightly lit spectacles and excited spectators.

Ursula floats down the street all aglow.

A frightfully fun parade at night featuring performers in vibrant costumes and onlookers lining the sides of the street, surrounded by palm trees and illuminated by bright lights.

Lady Tremaine and her daughters, Drizella and Anastasia, sweep down the street, along with the Red Queen, Jafar, and Captain Hook.

A costumed character, dressed as a queen in a red and black outfit, walks in the frightfully fun nighttime parade at a theme park, with illuminated floats and spectators on the side.

The only change this year is here. Previously, Hades appeared in the parade, and Mother Gothel was on the Treat Trail. Now, Hades can be found on the trail, and Mother Gothel is on a float.

A performer in a white costume stands on a red-lit stage with eerie decorations, including skeletal figures, during the frightfully fun parade at nighttime.

She shares a stage with Cruella de Vil.

An intricately decorated cauldron emits foggy blue smoke, surrounded by vibrant, colorful lights and spooky decorations, setting the stage for a frightfully fun parade led by a cloaked figure standing nearby.

The Evil Queen and Maleficent bring up the rear. The Evil Queen stands before her vast cauldron, apple in hand, as she prepares the poison.

A vibrant nighttime scene featuring a colorful, twisting tree structure illuminated with lights, alongside a large, intricately detailed dragon sculpture—capturing the essence of a frightfully fun parade.

Maleficent takes her dragon form.

Agatha Harkness Debuts New Costume at Oogie Boogie Bash

Agatha Harkness, from “WandaVision” and the upcoming “Agatha All Along,” debuted her new costume tonight at the first Oogie Boogie Bash of the season.

Agatha Harkness at Oogie Boogie Bash

A woman dressed in a long blue coat stands on a raised platform inside a decorative frame at the Oogie Boogie Bash, addressing an audience wearing various colorful hats and backpacks, reminiscent of an Agatha Harkness gathering.

Agatha can be found at the Ancient Sanctum in Avengers Campus. Her location is part of the Treat Trail.

A person dressed in a teal outfit stands on a rocky platform in an outdoor setting, reminiscent of Oogie Boogie Bash, with a mosaic wall and greenery in the background.

Her new costume includes a white collared shirt, a purple skirt, and a blue full-length coat.

Person with long, dark hair wearing a teal coat and white shirt, gesturing with both hands in front of a detailed stone wall and ornate doors at the Oogie Boogie Bash.

The coat has purple detailing, like on the inside of the cuffs. Agatha wears her amulet around her neck and her hair down in long waves.

A person dressed in a long teal coat, resembling Agatha Harkness's new costume, stands on a stone platform with a broken wall and lush greenery in the background. They have long dark hair and are gesturing with their right hand, as if inviting you to the Oogie Boogie Bash.
A person in period attire stands on a stone platform with their arms outstretched, evoking Agatha Harkness, surrounded by a partially ruined wall with ornate details and greenery in the background.

Agatha’s new costume is based on one shown in the trailer for “Agatha All Along,” as seen below, portrayed by Kathryn Hahn. The show will premiere on September 18, streaming exclusively on Disney+.

Four individuals, dressed in a mix of casual and formal attire, walk through a misty forest with serious expressions, surrounded by dim natural light and dense trees, almost like they're headed to the Oogie Boogie Bash.

Hahn is joined by Patti LuPone as Lilia, Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal, Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer, Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon, and Ali Ahn as Alice. Joe Locke will play Billy Kaplan, who in the comics is known by the moniker “Wiccan,” and is the son of the Scarlet Witch. Billy (as Billy Maximoff) was played by Nolan Englund in “WandaVision.”

Hades Brings the Heat to Oogie Boogie Bash 2024

Two characters were added to the slate at Oogie Boogie Bash for 2024 — Dr. Doofenshmirtz from “Phineas & Ferb,” and Hades from “Hercules.”

Hades at Oogie Boogie Bash

A crowded outdoor stage area with people gathered in the foreground. A sign reading "Hades Hangout" dominates the stage, hinting at an exciting 2024 event. Trees encircle the area, and a lamp post stands to the right, creating an eerie ambiance perfect for Oogie Boogie Bash.

Hades appears on the Hollywood Backlot Stage in Hollywood Land, which has been transformed into his personal Hades Hideaway. He’s part of the Treat Trail, so guests stopping by can pick up candy.

A performer dressed as a blue-haired character with a grayish face stands on a stage at the Oogie Boogie Bash 2024, arms raised. The stage features ornate decorations, including large vases and a patterned backdrop.

Hades Hideaway is decked out with his throne, vases, and other art depicting the myths and legends from the story. Screens cast blue flames on animated torches (which turn red when he gets angry).

At the Oogie Boogie Bash 2024, a person dressed as a character with green skin and white hair performs on a stage decorated with a throne and columns, looking like Hades himself, while an audience member records the mesmerizing performance with a smartphone.

He wears his blue and black toga and interacts with guests from the stage.

A person in a blue costume and makeup portraying Hades sits on a throne with large vases on either side at the 2024 Oogie Boogie Bash. Another person is seen in the foreground, looking at their phone.

We also caught him lounging on his throne, having a laugh.

Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed event at Disney California Adventure. During the party, the park is totally transformed with all kinds of fun, spooky details! The event is five hours long, and there’s a LOT to do to keep you busy throughout the night. We especially love the exclusive Halloween-themed entertainment, immersive treat trails, and Halloween-themed attractions.

Villains Grove at Oogie Boogie Bash

The event runs on select nights in August, September, and October, but, as we said, tickets are completely sold out at this time. If you were lucky enough to snag a ticket, make sure you’re in the park by 6PM. That’s when the event officially begins and runs until 11PM. That said, your event ticket will get you into Disney California Adventure Park as early as 3PM, so get there early if you want a head start! Remember that the Oogie Boogie-exclusive offerings won’t come out until 6PM.

Let’s DO this!

Oh, and here’s another important note. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is NOT available during the event, so just hop in the standby line if you’re interested in those California Adventure rides. We recommend visiting Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree if you’re looking for a spooky Halloween attraction to visit during the event.

Halloween in Cars Land

When you first arrive, make sure to pick up an event guide. This thing is SUPER important! It will tell you where to find all the rare characters, treat trails, limited-time treats, and more. Make sure to seek out some PhotoPass Cast Members during the event, too! Your party ticket gets you unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken during the event.

One of the best parts of the event is the Immersive Treat Trails. Here, you can trick-or-treat all around the park, enjoying some classic snack-size candy like Skittles, M&M’s, and Snickers. Yum, yum, and YUM! What really makes these treat trails special, though, are the VILLAINS! That’s right. You’ll find rare Disney villains, like Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, lurking around the trails.

Dan Povenmire Met Dr. Doofenshmirtz at Oogie Boogie Bash (And So Did We!)

At Oogie Boogie Bash, a separately ticketed Halloween event at Disney California Adventure, “Phineas & Ferb” creator Dan Povenmire got to meet Dr. Doofenshmirtz — and so did we!

Dr. Doofenshmirtz at Oogie Boogie Bash

Three staff members, one looking reminiscent of a character from Dan Povenmire's creations, are managing a large cauldron filled with colorful items outside a building. One employee is dressed in a green apron, while the others are in uniform. Pedestrians pass by in the background.

Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, self-proclaimed greatest villain in the Tri-State Area, greets guests from the stage inside the Disney Theater, located in Hollywood Land. His “lab” is a treat trail stop.

A person, presumably a scientist, is operating a control panel on a stage set with futuristic decor. Dr. Doofenshmirtz observes from the side as three individuals in uniform, including Dan Povenmire, stand nearby—two engaged in conversation—while blue lighting illuminates the scene.

His set is an amalgam of cartoon background and “-inator” props. He serves as the main antagonist of “Phineas & Ferb,” facing off against Agent P. (a.k.a. Perry the Platypus). Their conflicts are often the cause for the erasure of Phineas and Ferb’s antics, just in time for Candace to fail to prove them to their mom.

A colorful cartoon depiction of a futuristic control room with various gadgets, screens, and a tube with a brain inside it, all under purple lighting—a scene straight out of Dr. Doofenshmirtz's quirky inventions created by Dan Povenmire.

Animated elements are around the stage to enhance the set.

DLR DCA 2024 Oogie Boogie Bash Dr. Doofenshmirtz 16

Doofenshmirtz is dressed in his iconic style: green pants, a black turtleneck, and a white lab coat.

His exaggerated features are done in a more realistic fashion.

A person dressed as Dr. Doofenshmirtz stands on a stage with laboratory equipment, set against a backdrop of a futuristic cityscape, channeling the quirky genius reminiscent of Dan Povenmire's beloved character.
A futuristic computer and technological setup is displayed with neon lighting, featuring screens, consoles, and various machinery reminiscent of Dr. Doofenshmirtz's high-tech lair from a Dan Povenmire animation.

Agent P appears as a silhouette on one of his monitors.

Dan Povenmire Meets Dr. Doofenshmirtz

Povenmire, in addition to co-creating “Phineas & Ferb” with Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, is the voice for Doofenshmirtz. In a video posted to his X account, he and the on-stage Doofenshmirtz unite and declare their intent to conquer the entire Tri-State area.

Povenmire is also a Disney Parks fan. He’s posted before about Rise of the Resistance (both an encounter with a Cast Member and an occasion where he called Imagineer Scott Trowbridge to complain when the ride broke down). He also has the Doofenshmirtz figure from Agent P.’s World Showcase Adventure, a retired attraction from EPCOT at Walt Disney World in Florida.

A renewal of “Phineas & Ferb” has been ordered by Disney.

You can also see Dr. Doofenshmirtz in action at Oogie Boogie Bash in our video below.
